Bachelorette star Gabby Windey’s former fiance Erich Schwer suffers a tragic loss. Keep reading to find out what happened.

Gabby Windey & Erich Schwer Ended Engagement Shorty After Show

Erich Schwer was a contestant on Season 19 of The Bachelorette and eventually won the heart of Gabby Windey, who was co-headling the season with Rachel Recchia.

Not only did Schwer earn Windey’s Final Rose, but he also popped the question to the former nurse. Recchia also got engaged to Tino Franco, but they broke up before the season even finished airing.

Gabby Windey and Erich Schwer didn’t last long, either. They blamed their split on lack of compatibility, but did another woman play a part?

During Season 19, blogger Reality Steve released alleged text messages from Schwer to a woman, Amanda Kaylor, whom he was dating days before leaving to film the show.

Kaylor later heavily implied that her ex went on the show for “clout.”

After the engagement ended, Windey was linked to Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino. However, she shocked Bachelor Nation fans by coming out as bi during a bombshell interview on The View in August of 2023.

According to Windey, her ex hasn’t had much to say about her new relationship with a woman, Robby Hoffman.

As for Rachel Recchia, she will look for love again on the upcoming Season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise. Bachelor Nation shows typically air on Mondays, but Dancing With The Stars is returning to its original timeslot on ABC after airing exclusively on Disney+ last season.

You can catch the premiere of BIP on Thursday, September 28, at 9 p.m. Eastern, after The Golden Bachelor.

Erich Schwer Suffers Tragic Loss

Eric Schwer’s ex-girlfriend, Amanda Kaylor, has passed away at age 27. Life & Style reports that she took her own life on September 5. She leaves behind a young son, August, 3, who was born in 2020.

The outlet notes that Kaylor often posted about her son on social media, including one post after his birth that stated she was “excited” about motherhood.

According to the article, Schwer reached out to Kaylor right before his season of Bachelorette started airing. “I am so sorry Amanda, what I did was terrible, I don’t expect you to ever forgive me,” he allegedly wrote in a text message.

He has yet to publicly respond to the news of her death.
