Carlin Bates & Evan Stewart welcome fans into their lives.
Though UPtv pulled the plug on the Bates family’s reality series, fans still follow many of the family members on social media. Not only do they have public profiles on Instagram and Facebook, but some also have their own YouTube channels. Fans seem to like their videos, and it gives them a chance to watch the families, even without the show.
Recently, however, Carlin Bates and Evan Stewart have faced a lot of scrutiny over their social media activity. Of all of the Bates kids, they are certainly some of the most active, sharing regular videos of their kids and keeping fans in the loop almost daily. Because they share so much with fans, they also face quite a bit of criticism. Now, some fans think they’ve taken it too far. What have they done?
Bringing Up Bates fans are DONE with Carlin & Evan.
Sometimes, fans’ reactions are critical, especially when the couple posts a lot of pictures or videos of their two kids. On Reddit, a few users explained that they are officially done watching their videos and following them on social media. There have been a handful of recent things that have impacted this decision.
One Bringing Up Bates fan shared the reasoning for their decision and said, “I am doing this because I do not support the explotation of their children, Layla and Zade. The whole thing just sickens me honestly.”
One fan pointed out that there was too much focus on Layla using the bathroom in one video. The fan expressed concerns for the three-year-old’s privacy. Another Reddit user noted, “I am shocked they seem to have zero concern for their privacy and safety of their family.”

Another chimed in, “I watched one of the more recent videos, and I noticed that there are all kinds of equipment and wires around the house like it’s set up to be a film set.” Then, they added, “Kind of turned me off and I unfollowed them as well.”
Of course, the Reddit users speaking out about this are only a small percentage of Carlin and Evan’s viewers. So this may or may not affect their views. Some wish they would only share videos of themselves rather than including their children.
