Sarah Herron prepares to try for another baby
BIP alum Sarah Herron is ready to try again for a baby after she and Dylan Brown tragically lost their son. US Weekly spoke with Sarah about her and Dylan’s plans to continue their journey to have a baby.
Sarah and Dylan are not going to stop trying to start a family. She’s been open and honest with fans about her journey both emotional and physical. She said, “We are gonna do an embryo transfer in October, and if we do not have a successful pregnancy by the end of the year, we’re talking with Dr. Aimee about either doing another egg retrieval or considering egg donor or embryo donor.”
At this point in time, they do not think they will need a surrogate. Right now their plan is to use the last of their embryos and then if they are not pregnant by the end of 2023 they will go back to the drawing board.
Since she was able to get pregnant and carry the baby they are going to keep trying this route instead of surrogacy. Of course, they will keep their options open but for now, this is their plan.
She also said, “We’ll see where the wind blows us, but I think right now the best way to chew it off in bite-size pieces is like, ‘Let’s just see if we have a pregnancy by the end of the year. And if we don’t, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.’”
They do not have an endless supply of money
Sarah also revealed that they set a limit for how much they could afford and if they reach that limit then they will discuss their other options. They both realize there are many ways to start a family.
So, for now, they still have the resources to keep trying. She did not specify what their limit was.
The reason she started her IVF journey, to begin with, was due to her being diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. This basically means her egg count is less than most women her age.
Sarah and Dylan seek counseling
Sarah also revealed that she and Dylan have been seeking grief counseling together since losing Oliver earlier this year. She has also started her own support group called Infertile Circle.
She said, “I just wanted to create something that was not me trying to be an expert, not me trying to be a therapist. It’s just a peer support group. And I tell the women in the group that it’s just as much for me as it is them.”
The group has been great for many women gong through exactly what Sarah is.
What do you think about Sarah being ready to try again to transfer another embryo?
