‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood Reunites With Son, Films Journey

Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has finally reunited with her five-year-old son, James. She made the trek to California to visit him and made sure to film the journey, as well. It has not been an easy ride for the mother of two as she resides in Indiana and James lives with his father. So, how did she feel as she got ready to see her little man? Read on for more details.

Last summer, Amber Portwood lost custody of her son, James who she had with Andrew Glennon. He was allowed to take him to California which was a major blow to Amber. She has struggled for a very long time to make her life better for herself and her children. Along with James, Portwood has a teenage daughter, Leah with her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley. The two were first featured on 16 & Pregnant as they navigated being young and in love. Unfortunately, it did not work out for them and Amber struggled with her mental health and other issues.

She served time in jail but remained a Teen Mom mainstay. Sadly, she and Andrew also did not work out and, as aforementioned, she then lost custody of their son together. However, she was eventually able to have time with him monthly but that has not been easy, per The Sun. Due to the distance, she has had to do whatever she can to keep in touch and close to her son. According to a source: “Amber is now at the full visits with James that the court set forth for them in their final custodial decision. She has him five days a month, and her time with him alternates between California and Indiana.”

Now, Amber Portwood is sharing her trip to California to see James. She filmed her ride while she was in the back of a car and posted it to Instagram. In the caption, she wrote: “#bubbyandme2023 #gratefullness.” It seems she is extremely happy that she has the opportunity to be with her son and share special moments. Her followers were excited for her, too. “Yesssssssssss girl enjoy your mommy and me time 🙌🏾,” one wrote.

Will This Be On The Show?

Though Amber Portwood looked like she was leaving Teen Mom, it appears that she will be back filming at the end of May. So, will this reunion with James be filmed? It would make sense with the timeline that this would be on the show and fans would love to see it. They have followed her for years, the highs and lows so this would be a very special moment in time.
