Honey Boo Boo a.k.a Alana Thompson is defending herself after catching serious heat for her bizarre new accent. The young reality TV star can’t seem to stay out of the headlines following her boyfriend’s police chase that ended in an arrest and the filthy tirade she went on with her sister Pumpkin on TikTok live.
Now, a video of Honey Boo Boo talking with a very thick “ghetto” accent while constantly patting her head has gone viral on TikTok and she’s on the defense once again.
Honey Boo Boo defends herself and shuts it down
Alana Thompson schools her followers and fans on the fact that she’s well aware of the video making rounds of her using an exaggerated “ghetto” accent while patting her head repeatedly. Turns out, fans thought she was being both rude and disrespectful. Moreover, fans also question why she’s faking an accent instead of just being her real self.
On her Instagram Stories, Honey Boo Boo tells fans that she is constantly getting slammed for being ghetto and acting ghetto. So, she decided to embrace what she was being accused of all the time and started talking with an exaggerated accent.
“I’ma actually start talking like this … OK. Cuz’ y’all think I’m so ghetto, I’m finna show y’all how f**king ghetto.”
Over the weekend, she defended herself on Instagram stating that it was never her intention to offend anyone.

She explained: No, I wasn’t attempting to offend anyone! I did this because people frequently comment on how “ghetto” my speech is. Which I feel in no way I do. I feel I am my own true self.”
Alana Thompson also explained that she only created the video with an exaggerated accent because she was trying to “prove a point” to people who have an opinion on everything she does.

Fans still aren’t happy with her
At the end of the day, fans still haven’t gotten past the filthy tirade she went on with her sister Pumpkin where she said degrading things to her fans and followers suggesting that she was better than the people who watched her show.
Honey Boo Boo is taking a mostly unbothered approach. Though, she does make an effort to defend herself and fight back. She concluded her clap back on Instagram by saying it was “a wrap” and that she would not discuss the subject any further.
