TJ Holmes & Amy Robach’s Shocking ‘Today Show’ Replacements?

Today Show may lend Good Morning America some of their on-air talent. Producers have their eyes on two of their stars. This might come as a shock to fans. TJ Holmes and Amy Robach may say goodbye to their respective careers soon.

An internal review has been placed into their alleged affair, which was leaked in late November. ABC isn’t sure if they want to bring back the GMA3 co-anchors even if the review reveals that nothing wrong happened. Producers would rather start this year with a clean slate. GMA wants to steal talent from The Today Show

Good Morning America is still dealing with the aftermath of TJ Holmes and Amy Robach’s affair. Many guest hosts for ABC have filled in for the pair for the past month or so. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, GMA is looking to steal talent from their competitor. They have their eyes on some of the co-anchors on the Today Show.

“T.J. and Amy’s situation creates a big headache and bosses have an even bigger task — they’ve got to discreetly find out which talent is logically poachable while weighing the best potential fit,” an insider told Radar Online.

The exes have already spoke to several of the Today Show co-hosts. The report suggested that they already approached Carson Daly, Hoda Kotb, Jenna Bush Hager, and Savannah Guthrie about potential offers. However, they’re all under contract with Today, which prevents them from working with its competitors.

Good Morning America is trying to sweeten the deal by luring them out of their contract. So far, ABC hasn’t made an official announcement. GMA3 returned on Tuesday, January 3 with guest hosts. TJ and Amy will remain off the show and it looks like a permanent decision.

TJ Holmes & Amy Robach’s possible replacements

According to a new report, GMA wants Carson Daly and Jenna Bush Hager to replace TJ Holmes and Amy Robach. They feel that the two are a safe bet. Both of them have a clean track record. Carson and Jenna ended up at the top of their wishlist.

“Jenna is so wholesome and charming and Carson’s broadcasting experience and pop-culture knowledge would make him a shoo-in,” an insider told Radar Online.

This may not happen though. They still have non-compete clauses that they can’t get out of. Jenna also co-hosts the mid-morning version of Today with Hoda. Meanwhile, Carson is in a contract with NBCUniversal that he may not get out of. He also hosts The Voice on that same network.

Aside from these issues, Jenna and Carson may consider this an appealing deal. Jenna is “extremely ambitious” and is always looking for the next best thing. As for the former TRL host, he was “ready for a change,” says the source. For now, ABC needs to focus on what to do with Amy and TJ.
