Al Roker Says Heartbreaking Goodbye To Dead Friend
The Today Show anchor Al Roker took to Instagram this morning with a heartbreaking post as he said goodbye to a dead friend. As fans know, the beloved news anchor is currently in the hospital fighting for his own health and well-being. Sadly, death still found a way of striking Al Roker as he was forced to say goodbye to a dear friend who he worked with for years on the NBC talk show.

A few hours ago, Al Roker took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with a huge smile on his face as he spent time with his late friend. Both Al and his friend had huge smiles on their faces as they clearly enjoyed each other’s company. His post revealed that a former stage manager and director of The Today Show had passed away.
He penned in his tribute: “The laugh you always heard in the background for years on @todayshow was our stage manager, @mtraub2295 and when he retired, some of our spark diminished. Sadly, that light is gone after a long battle. Take care , Mark. You are so missed.”
Al’s wife popped into the comments of his tribute to his late friend to note that she also loved Mark very much. She claimed he was a “delight” and a “gentleman.” Take a closer look at his tribute and see the sweet photo he shared down below:

Katie Couric also penned a devastating goodbye
Like Al Roker, Katie Couric also had the pleasure of working with Mark Traub during her time on The Today Show. Katie penned on her own Instagram that she was absolutely gutted to wake up and learn of her dear friend’s passing.
Katie penned: “My heart is breaking this morning. I forgot my phone last night and didn’t check it when I got home. I woke up to the news that my friend Mark Traub, who was the head stage manager on the Today Show for 35 years, died yesterday after a long battle with leukemia.”

In response to learning of his passing, many fans of The Today Show admit they never had the pleasure of seeing Mark’s face on the show. But, everyone recalls hearing his incredible laughter off-screen. Many fans admit they are happy to finally put a face to that infectious laughter. And, they hope he was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing.
