A Today Show favorite leaves and fans start an online petition. The morning show is experiencing another shakeup with its cast. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Carson Daly made his big return this week. He was away in Los Angeles filming The Voice Season 22 finales and the new series Barmageddon.

Carson appeared to be a little distracted upon his return. He was playing with his phone during a live segment. However, it was all in good jest. Carson was talking about his new game show with his friend and co-host Blake Shelton. He even called him at one point.

Al Roker rushed to the hospital

Another Today Show shakeup also took place. Weatherman Al Roker was rushed back to the hospital after his release on Thanksgiving Day. He remains in the hospital where he is getting the best care possible. Al’s wife Deborah Roberts expressed concern about him and asked fans for prayers and well wishes.

The Today Show fan favorite has been noticeably absent for much of November and December. Fans were concerned when he was first missing from the talk show and silent on social media. On Friday, November 18, Al broke his silence on Instagram explaining that he was rushed to the hospital for multiple blood clots in his legs and lungs. This resulted in lengthy hospital stays.

His ongoing health issues caused him to miss his first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in decades. Al was also missing from the tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center. Fans are seriously missing him during this time. Most agree that he is what the holidays are all about.

His Today Show co-hosts have shared their well wishes on air and on social media. They’ve also kept the viewers up to date on how Al is doing. However, concerns are growing for Al’s health and well-being. There are no details on his medical condition at this time.

Another Today Show fan-favorite is gone

Once again, the Today Show is getting another shakeup. Fan-favorite Jacob Soboroff shared that he’s taking a step back from his co-hosting duties. He spent most of this week filling in for Carson Daly. Jacob also stepped up to fill in for Al Roker.

He took to Instagram to share that he was “heading home” after fulfilling his temporary hosting duties. Jacob posted a photo of himself walking off the Today Show set with two peace signs in the air. He wore a gray tweed blazer and pants with a light blue shirt and a dark brown tie.

“Heading home. ✌🏻Til next time. Thanks to the @todayshow squad for the hospitality,” Jacob wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. 

Today Show fans took to the comment section to beg him to return. They want him to stay on the show permanently. One wrote, “Should we start an online petition for a permanent anchor?” Another one added, “You’d be a great permanent presence on Today!!”
