In a podcast, Canadian singer and songwriter Shania Twain talked about the time she was interviewed by the 68-year-old. She reminisced how it was one of the most memorable dinners she had with someone so iconic. However, she did reveal that something during the interview didn’t go as planned. What happened? Shania Twain Reveals Oprah Winfrey Is Very Religious

In the Table Manners podcast, hosted by Jennie Ware and her mother Lennie, Shania Twain revealed the details of her interview with the celebrated talk show host. She revealed, “I think one of my most memorable dinners was with Oprah Winfrey.”

The 57-year-old also revealed that she and Winfrey had dinner at a restaurant and explained that the host is such a smart lady and she had a great time as they sat together having real talks. However, this real talk soon turned serious when they shared their opinion on religion. The conversation quickly went south.

Feeling the tension rise, Shania thought it was better to end the conversation. She explained, “So I said, let’s stop talking about religion.” The ‘Queen Of Country Pop’ went on to claim that Winfrey is a very religious individual.

Shania Twain Admits To Not Being A Religious Individual

As per Huffpost, Oprah Winfrey was raised in the Baptist church, and in the past, she has revealed that she is a consistent Bible reader. When the podcast host queried Twain on her religious beliefs, she said, “I’m not religious in the sense that I’m dedicated to a religion. I’m much more of a spiritual person. I’m a seeker.”

The From This Moment On singer went on to declare that she learned a big lesson and pledged never to discuss religion or politics at the dinner table. She said, “Everyone always says, Never talk about politics or religion.”

The Grammy Award winner also explained that religion can be a touchy topic for some and it just wasn’t debatable when you are in conversation with someone so legendary as Winfrey. This is why she swiftly switched the topic.

Although the singer loves to debate, she didn’t think it was the best time to do so. She explained, “There was no room for debate. And I like to debate. Canadians like to debate everything. So, I’m like, OK, I’m going to change the subject.”

Winfrey and Twain have collaborated on several projects that include documentaries and interviews. Back in 2011, the duo collaborated on the docuseries, Why not? With Shania Twain. The series ran for a total of six episodes on OWN, a TV network owned by Winfrey.
