‘Live’ Kelly Ripa Insults Ryan Seacrest’s Intelligence?

Kelly Ripa insulted Ryan Seacrest’s intelligence. She threw shade at her co-host again during another Live! segment. Fans noticed that she has been a lot cattier lately. The two got into a heated debate about Ryan’s inability to understand the British accent.

The incident took place during Tuesday’s episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan. Kelly admitted that she’s been watching the HBO show, Industry. The 51-year-old said that while “it’s so, so good,” she has “no idea what’s going on.”

Kelly Ripa explained that the series “takes place in the finance world.” She moved her hand over her head to express how overwhelmed she is by the show. The television host explained the different types of accents that take place on the show. She suggested this is something that her co-host may have difficulty with.

“There are British accents, but there are American ones too, so you’ll be able to understand it,” Kelly Ripa reassured Ryan as she put her hand on his arm.

The American Idol host acted cooly about the shade. He admitted: “I can understand English!” Kelly explained that they speak so fast that he may not understand what they’re saying. Ryan seemed insulted that she dug at his intelligence.

“With all due respect, I can understand fast English,” Ryan said. “Even British fast English.”

Kelly Ripa threw in one final dig: “Watch it with the subtitles.”

Ryan got his revenge later in the broadcast. He slammed the All My Children alum for her acting abilities. Kelly recreated a scene from the Hulu series The Patient, in which Steve Carrell’s character wakes up. Ryan noted that the character on the show speaks too fast — something which she should know about.

He sarcastically retorted: “Weren’t you an actress?” Ryan got a good laugh as he looked at the camera. Kelly Ripa used to be a soap actress before she became a talk show host. She starred in the ABC soap with her husband, Mark Consuelos.

The shady comments came after Ryan admitted that the execs favor Kelly Ripa over him. Last week, he shared that his co-host gets the final say on decisions, especially when it comes to something as small as the design for holiday mugs. Unfortunately, the co-hosts don’t get any say when it comes to the set.

Both Kelly Ripa and Ryan complained that they can’t get a new studio design. Kelly threw shade at The View’s revamped set. Ryan is looking for sturdier chairs that he would feel safe in. However, fans think they should focus on the live aspect of the show.
