‘Wheel Of Fortune‘ Pat Sajak & Vanna White Pop Off On Trolls
Wheel of Fortune got a new letter board for the premiere of Season 40. While an upgrade would normally be welcomed, many fans of the game show are trolling the hosts about the changes. Pat Sajak and Vanna White shut them down though. Keep reading to see how they’ve reacted to the comments about the new high-tech board.
Wheel Of Fortune Gets A Facelift For Season 40
It was revealed that the Wheel of Fortune set would be graced with a new letter board for the first time in nearly 20 years earlier this month. This has been the biggest change to the show since 1997. Promotional videos showed off a new, high-tech board that is controlled remotely. Vanna doesn’t even have to touch it if she doesn’t want to.

For fans, the change has been jarring. Even before the Season 40 premiere, viewers lamented about the new letter board. Previously, the board was made up of separate screens that Vanna had to physically touch to change. Now, all she has to do is a gesture toward the screen.
Despite the upgrades to the set, fans felt the new look of the letter board looked “cheap” and “odd.” Others commented on the font not being quite right and that the board seemed to be less engaging. One person even said that the new letter board looked like a photo op backdrop.
Longtime hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White seemed to have responded to the criticisms in a recent Instagram post.
Pat And Vanna ‘Clap Back’ At Backlash
In a new video, Pat Sajak and Vanna White respond to the backlash about the show’s new letter board. The teaser, which was posted to Instagram, was captioned, “Places, everyone! Wait, something seems different…”
The clip showed Maggie Sajak and Jim Thornton, pretending to be struggling with the new set. Pat and Vanna were both featured in the video as well, acting like they don’t know what’s going on. Pat is using a selfie stick and Vanna has taken the announcer seat.
Then the four come together with smiles to say that they will all be right where they always have been. Pat said, “I’m still your host.” Vanna chimed in that she’d still be at the puzzle board and Thornton would still be announcing. “We’re all where we should be,” he said.

One fan commented “Ouch!” and said that, while the changes were big, they were excited to see the new set. Others offered congratulations to the team on 40 years on the air. Even though everyone isn’t excited about the new letter board, plenty of viewers are excited about another season of the game show regardless.
