Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson is sixteen but she has been hustling for years. However, after seeing the teen’s 2022 net worth, it might be time for her to just enjoy being young. Is she being forced to work to take care of her family? Or is this all that she knows? It might just be a little bit of both.
Alana Thompson’s Familial Money Struggles
The family rose to fame thanks to Alana’s super adorable and spunky personality. Her appearances on Toddlers and Tiaras spawned Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, her sweet childhood nickname. From the show to appearances and such, each family member was able to make a decent amount of money. At one point, Alana’s eldest sister, Anna Cardwell claimed their mother, Mama June stole her 30K trust fund. More so, June alleges she personally blew 1 million dollars on drugs in one year.
Needless to say, the family made a pretty penny from that series and the subsequent Mama June: From Not to Hot/ Road to Redemption spinoffs. Unfortunately, June’s substance abuse issues led to Alana going to live with her sister, Pumpkin who had just gotten married. Along with Pumpkin’s husband, they also had a baby, Ella so the house was getting full. Their older sister, Jessica soon moved in, and apparently, June was not helping much.
By 2021, Pumpkin gave birth to her second child, a son named Bentley. She saw their mom blowing money freely on random men yet they were struggling. In April of 2022, Pumpkin gained sole custody of Alana but the following month, she also welcomed twins so she was now a mother of four and Alana. Finances were super tight so the whole family was pushing merch, Cameos, meet and greets, and sharing their CashApps. Is this something that Alana really should have to worry about at sixteen?
How Much Is She Really Worth?
In 2021, Alana Thompson was reportedly worth between $400K and 1 million dollars. She had done Dancing With the Stars Juniors but she has also done The Masked Singer. Plus, she got an endorsement deal with Boston Market. So, what is her new net worth, and has it changed at all? According to In Touch Weekly, her net worth is approximately 400K. The outlet also added that Alana has worked in music and her reality television career has contributed to her financial gain.
One thing that Pumpkin addressed when she was looking to gain custody of her sister was the expense of college. This should actually all be covered by Alana’s net worth if it has been properly managed in a trust. Now, should she have to work as hard as she does, promoting and such? That is debatable. It seems as though she has been working since she was literally a toddler so maybe she should have a break to just be a kid. Yet, does she even know what that even means anymore?
