Mama June Shannon spent a lot of money on drugs, this is no secret. Yet the exact amount has always been an estimate. Things were sold and such but just exactly how much did she drop? She shared this information on The Wendy Williams Show and it is mindblowing.

Mama June Has Nothing Left

Over the years, June had gained a lot from reality television, endorsements, and everything that came with the lifestyle. She had helped launch her youngest daughter Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson on Toddlers and Tiaras. Alana was this adorable pageant girl thus she was primed for reality TV success. Her family went on to star in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo for four seasons. When that was canceled, June and her longtime partner were struggling in their relationship. Luckily, they were recruited for Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. Though they ultimately broke up, June decided to undergo a full-body transformation. With that came her own reality show documenting her new life and ultimately, her new love.

Unfortunately, while on the show, she met her demise as she became hooked on drugs with her new boyfriend Geno Doak. He seemed great even though he had a rough past. She went on to lose everything she had, including her relationships with her daughters. Alana went to go live with her older sister, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird while June and Geno got arrested. They ended up in rehab with June choosing to get sober. In the end, she left Geno and found the man who would end up becoming her husband. Now she is opening up about how much she spent on drugs and it is a lot.

How Much Is Too Much?

While appearing on The Wendy Williams Show with host Michael Rapaport, nothing was off-limits. Mama June says she has been sober for twenty-nine months now which is a huge accomplishment. Admittedly, in the last year of her addiction, she spent over one million dollars. For her, it was different than the average person who could spend five or ten dollars a day on drugs. Now she is rebuilding her life but fans have questions. When she was in her addiction, Alana went to go live with Pumpkin. In April, Pumpkin gained sole custody of her sister, and June was ordered to pay $800/month in child support. When June’s financials came out, this amount seemed way too low.

Reddit had something to say about it:

  • “The court papers showed June making $25K a month in “promotions and endorsements” plus a little over $1,000 in disability. The judge said because WE has not renewed the show for another season (they will), that money is subject to going away.”

At 25K/month, that equals 300K/year so how is $800/month adequate? Furthermore, she was not even ordered to pay back support. It is great that she is starting to save again and beginning a new life but has June truly changed? What do you think? Let us know and watch Mama June: Road to Redemption Fridays on WeTV.
