Josh Duggar Shows No Emotion Amid Facing 12 Years Behind Bars
Former 19 Kids & Counting star Josh Duggar was sentenced to 12 years behind bars. But as his fate was revealed, the eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s kids showed no emotion. Keep reading to get all of the details about how this all went down.
In case you missed any of the details of Josh’s recent legal troubles, here’s a quick reminder of it all. Josh was arrested in the spring of 2021 for possessing and receiving child pornography. His trial began on November 30 and ran through early December.
He was found guilty on two counts, possessing and receiving. Note that one of these charges was dropped at sentencing because this content cannot be possessed without first receiving it. The maximum sentence for his crime is 20 years, but his defense argued for five years.
On Wednesday, May 25, Josh Duggar was sentenced to 12 years behind bars.

According to witnesses who spoke with The Sun, Josh was wearing a tan jacket and a face mask. The eldest Duggar son still has a beard and a mustache. The hair on his head is further receding, according to the courtroom witnesses.
As the judge sentenced Josh Duggar to 151 months (around 12.5 years) behind bars, he reportedly showed “little emotion.” The Sun claims that he was “stone-faced.”
Other witnesses from the courtroom state that he looked “stoic” while he was being sentenced.

So, it’s unknown exactly how Josh feels about his sentence. This whole time, he has claimed that he’s innocent. Now, he will soon be transferred to federal prison where he will be spending more than a decade behind bars.
The Sun also reported that Josh’s family members present in court had little to no reaction to the news of his 12-year sentence. As his wife, Anna Duggar fled the courtroom, it looked like she was fighting back tears.
His family has yet to speak on the sentencing, and it’s unclear if any of them will say anything at all.
