Gavin & Stacey star lost 14 pounds
In a new interview, James Corden shared the secrets behind his weight loss. He fasts until 12:00 p.m., which is when he eats his first meal. Corden will joke that he has “a vile 15-calorie, sugar-free, vitamin-laden health drink.” While it’s not pleasant-tasting, it sets his day on a healthy start.
From there, the comedian work with his personal trainer. Some mornings, they’ll do boxing and other times, they’ll mix it up. James Corden admitted in his interview that he only ate “an apple.” Even though he wants to be as healthy as possible, he doesn’t want to “deprive” himself of the foods he loves.
“The notion of going on a diet is everything that is wrong because at some point you are going to revert,” James Corden explained to The Sun. “It’s like Dry January — it’s brilliant if you give up booze for January but in the back of your mind, you’re like, ‘Well, in February I’m going to have a drink.'”
The Cats star also revealed why he wanted to work with WW, formerly known as Weight Watchers. He loved the program because it doesn’t remove any of the bad things. Plus, he doesn’t feel bad if he has a sudden craving.
“You don’t have to cut anything out. It’s just being aware of what you are putting in your body, trying not to eat things that have too many ingredients,” James Corden said. “I just really enjoy it. You don’t beat yourself up if you have a bad week — you just don’t revert back to eating Quavers at midnight.”
James Corden leaves late-night TV
James Corden isn’t just making changes to his health and lifestyle. He just completed a four-day transcendental meditation, which helps “settle the body down to a state of restful alertness.” It requires two 20-minute sessions per day. Corden will try to make time in his busy schedule if he finds himself scrolling on his phone or watching TV.
Speaking of TV, Corden is leaving late-night TV. Earlier this month, he announced that he is ending his nighttime talk show. The Late Late Show will air four episodes from his native UK. They will run from Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. What are your thoughts on his weight loss secrets? Sound off below in the comment section.
