Tammy Slaton’s family has been threatening to make her a ward of the state as long as her show has been on TLC. However, now fans think that that will never happen. Keep reading to find out why.

Over the span of time that 1000-Lb. Sisters have been on TLC, Tammy Slaton has caused a lot of frustration in her family. For all three seasons, she resisted change and struggled to do anything to help herself lose weight. Because of this, her family often struggled with what to do with her.

Of course, making Tammy a ward of the state has come up a few times. If that were to happen, the family would no longer be responsible for taking care of her every second of every day. While this would be a relief for them, some speculate that they will never do it. Why? Because Tammy makes them all a lot of money ScreenRant reports.

It’s no secret that 1,000-Lb. Sisters have quickly become a fan favorite in the TLC lineup. Even though it isn’t actually on right now, fans can binge all three seasons on Discovery+. Tammy’s sister, Amy got her life together back in Season 1. Now, she has lost her weight, got surgery, and welcomed her baby boy into the world. Currently, she is waiting on baby number 2 to be born.

That makes Tammy the main focus of the TLC hit now. Everyone seems to be enamored wondering what will happen to Tammy next. It seems safe to say she is the hit of the family show.

This means that if the family were to give her to the state, they would lose that income. Chris Combs, Tammy’s brother, has continued working and making Cameos while being on the show so it’s clear making a good amount of money is important to him.

Without Tammy, there would be no show and ultimately no income for the family. Some speculate that they will never give her up because of this.

Of course, Tammy does seem to be trying to lose the weight on her own now. She is currently in rehab where she seems to be having fun playing with filters on her TikTok and Instagram.
