Most Survivor contestants are lucky to get an invite for a second season. The real legends of the show get to come back for three or even four seasons. Then there’s Boston Rob. Currently, Rob Mariano is in a tie for most seasons of Survivor with fellow legend Sandra Diaz-Twine. Rob was in the lead for a while, but Sandra’s most recent appearance on Australian Survivor evens the tally. They both have five seasons under their belt.
Many fans were wondering after the all-winners season if Boston Rob would be retiring from the show for good. However, recently, Rob has taken to his Twitter account with a potentially juicy reveal that he may be coming back in the near future. But is he actually coming back, or just pulling our legs?
Is Boston Rob Coming Back To ‘Survivor’?
This tweet Rob sent out on March 13th seems to indicate that Rob will be coming back to the show in Season 50. This would mean Rob is competing in 2026. He’ll be 50 competing in Season 50! It’s rare to see winners come out of that age group, especially ones as high profile as Boston Rob who’s sure to be a target from the very beginning. But it’s worth noting that this may also just be a huge joke. Just two hours before Rob sent out his tweet, Tom Brady sent out a tweet that looks very similar.
“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG,” from Brady’s Twitter account.
That tweet from the legendary football star has been the butt of internet jokes since it went up. The main joke was that Tom couldn’t even chill for 2 months without wanting to jump back in the spotlight. So it’s possible that Boston Rob’s tweet could just be him jumping in on the joke to pull everyone’s leg. But maybe there’s some truth to it?
A Legend Forever
In Rob’s tweet, he says he’s coming back for his 7th season in Season 50. He’s only ever played in 5 seasons. So either Rob plans on doing another season between now and 50, or he’s counting his appearance on Season 49, Island Of The Idols. However, this doesn’t really count, since he didn’t compete, he just gave new contestants advice on how to compete.
Regardless, the only thing that’s abundantly clear through all this is that the fans are more than ecstatic at the idea of having Rob back on the show.
