Disney+ is having a very successful run at the moment with many of its Marvel Cinematic Universe-related shows. Wandavision and Loki in particular have been critically and commercially lauded as some of the best things to come out of the MCU in recent years. But before all of this, the MCU’s television format was dominated by two characters in particular. Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

Jessica Jones Season 1 is a side of the MCU that fans so rarely see. It is gritty, psychological, and grounded. All of the MCU shows released on Netflix had a similarly dark tone, which is refreshing for a universe that tends to lean thematically in the other direction. Season 2 isn’t quite as critically successful, but still much appreciated by many Jessica Jones fans. Sadly, all of the Netflix Marvel shows came to an end shortly after the Disney+ announcement arrived. It’s clear Disney wants to have all of the Marvel shows on their own service for marketing purposes. For a long time, it seemed like the character of Jessica Jones might be out of the MCU for good. But, recently, things have been changing…

Krysten Ritter’s New (But Familiar) Style

Krysten Ritter, the actor who plays the titular Jessica Jones, has recently been spotted on Instagram sporting a hairstyle very similar to her JJ hairstyle. This is the first time in a while we’ve seen her with hair like this. And it’s sparking up rumors that a new season of Jessica Jones may be in the works. This isn’t the only thing bringing the rumors about, either. Click here to see her hairstyle.

Recently a close Jessica Jones associate, Daredevil, made an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Between that and a Kingpin appearance in the recent Hawkeye Disney+ show, we know that Disney isn’t done with the characters yet. What’s more, the once Netflix-exclusive shows are now coming to Disney+ on March 16th. This change seems to signify an attempt by Disney to bring the shows into the greater line of Disney+ Marvel entertainment. Whether or not this means new seasons of these shows are coming isn’t currently clear. But considering the popularity of shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones it feels like Disney would be crazy to not bring them back.

Jessica Jones Return?

Nothing is certain as Disney and Marvel are maintaining their trademark level of secrecy. But it seems like something major is brewing with the Netflix Marvel characters. Characters like Kingpin and Daredevil will be appearing in the upcoming Disney+ Marvel shows Echo and She-Hulk respectively. It seems as though it is only a matter of time before Jessica Jones is back in our lives and on our screens once again.
