Jon Gosselin Protecting Collin & Hannah, From What?
Lately, we’ve written about how Jon Gosselin seems a little nostalgic these days. His TLC show has been over for quite some time. He and his ex-wife Kate Gosselin split up a long time ago and he only has custody of two of the children.
However, the family did earn a substantial amount of fame and money from their time on TV. Now that the sextuplets are nearing their 18th birthday, Jon hopes he can protect his kids from the dangers of the adult world.
Jon Gosselin is doing everything in his power to prepare Collin and Hannah for the adult world
On May 10th, the sextuplets will be 18-years-old. Only Hannah and Collin live with their father, but he hopes he can protect them and prevent them from squandering their money.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Jon Gosselin wisely chose to enroll Hannah and Collin in finance classes. The publication reports that Jon is concerned his children could make silly mistakes with the money they will receive when they turn 18-years-old.
They earned money for their time on TLC for 11 seasons and the sextuplets will get their share on their birthday. The Hollywood Gossip also reports that the children will “receive 25% at age 18, 25% at 21, 25% at 25, and 25% at 30.” This system is to help ensure that the kids can’t blow all their money before their 19th birthday.
Hopefully with the finances classes, Hannah and Collin will make responsible choices with their money in the coming year.
A source reportedly told The Sun that Jon Gosselin has no control over the other four kids and worries they will make poor decisions.
“He is hoping they will use the money for schooling but at this point, he has no control. He just wants the best for them,” the source said.
The TLC star fondly looks back on the past
As we noted above, Jon Gosselin really seems to be missing the days when his family all lived together. He keeps posting photos and videos of the kids when they were little on his social media channels.
Sadly, it doesn’t seem like Jon has a lot of contact with the rest of the sextuplets. And as he previously said, he hasn’t talked to his twin daughters Mady and Cara in eight years. It’s not hard to imagine that he wishes he could step back in time.
Do you think Jon Gosselin is feeling a little lonely these days? Do you think he’s making the right choice by enrolling his kids in financial education classes? Definitely a wise choice, I wish someone had done it for me after my parents died, I might have money left.
I think it is a wonderful idea. He should have all of his children.
