On Monday, January 3, the reality star took to TikTok to post a new video. It says, “Barely surviving 2021 then stepping into 2022 like…” The video shows Jenelle wearing an oversized black hooded sweatshirt, which she wears with gray sweatpants. She holds onto her chest as she stumbles around her backyard. Then, she turns around to twerk at the camera.

“Starting out #2022 with a dance 💃🏻” Jenelle Evans captioned the video.

Within 21 hours, the video received over 41,000 likes. Fans left hundreds of comments about the twerking video. What’s interesting is that the 30-year-old used the phrase “barely surviving” as she continues to battle her health. She last revealed that she has two tumors in her neck and her spine.

The reality star shared an emotional update about her health in a previous TikTok video. She responded to a fan who commented that they were a “huge fan.” Obviously, that comment made an impact on Jenelle, who wanted to share the update.

“Hey, thanks for the support,” Jenelle said. “I’ve just been taking things easy lately. I’m making my health number one right now, so if it seems like I kind of lost my spark or motivation, I kind of have. I’ve recently been diagnosed with, you know, two tumors in my spine. They also recently found out I have a tumor in my neck which hurts pretty bad … I’ve just been in a lot of pain lately and my neck is just killing me.”

The former MTV star has talked about her health struggles before. She’s been using TikTok to keep fans up to date. Jenelle previously revealed that she has an “update” with her neurosurgeon next week. She suffers from syringomyelia, which causes cysts (syrinx) to develop along the spinal cord. The cysts are full of fluid, which causes pain.

Symptoms include headaches, loss of reflexes, muscle weakness, and pain. In extremely rare cases, they can lead to paralysis. Jenelle caused controversy when she claimed that she could “become paralyzed.” While most fans offered their support, others slammed her for her ableist comments.

It’s unclear what level of pain Jenelle may be in. Her health issues haven’t stopped her from twerking. She previously took to TikTok to share a video of herself twerking at a gas station during her 30th birthday. It’s clear she wants to keep her spirits up despite what she’s going through.
