Henry Golding to star in TV adaptation of Dean Koontz stories Nameless

A series of short stories titled Nameless by horror/fantasy/thriller author Dean Koontz will be adapted into a new TV series. Meanwhile, Crazy Rich Asians actor Henry Golding gets to star in, and executive produce the series. Read on to find out more about the adaptation of the 12 exciting short stories.

TV adaptation of Nameless by Dean Koontz

While adaptations of Stephen King’s work get a lot of hype, fellow horror/fantasy/thriller author Dean Koontz has also had success in TV. Now, SK Global has acquired the rights to Koontz’s Nameless, a series of 12 short thriller stories.

Meanwhile, actor Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) will star and executive produce the TV series. However, the series comes from the first-look deal between Golding and his Long House Productions banner and indie production company SK Global. Mazur Kaplan Company is also involved in the production, while as yet, no network is attached.

Plot of the upcoming series

The series of thrillers by best-selling author Dean Koontz follows Nameless, a man with amnesia. The last 30 years of his memory have been erased and all he can remember is the mission he has been assigned by a shadowy agency. This mission leads to him traveling the country, turning predators into prey.

Koontz’s Nameless series is published on Kindle by Amazon. The short story series has held the top 12 positions on the Kindle Singles bestseller list since June.

Speaking of the new adaptation, Henry Golding said he has long been fascinated by the idea of telling a mystery thriller in an episodic format. However, he said that to work with the master of suspense thrillers, Dean Koontz’s Nameless is beyond his expectations.

“To bring this exceptional series to the screen with my partners SK Global and Mazur Kaplan will be an exhilarating journey as we look to bring a fresh and unique take on Dean’s characters.”

Golding will executive produce the series, along with Sidney Kimmel, Charlie Corwin, John Penotti and Marcy Ross of SK Global. Meanwhile, Paula Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan of Mazur Kaplan are also involved in the production.

SK Global has been behind titles like Billion Dollar Whale and Before the Coffee Gets Cold, among others. As noted by Hollywood Reporter, Penotti, Corwin and Ross made a joint statement, saying, “Dean Koontz’s Nameless is one of those rare page-turning series that immediately hooks audiences and never lets up.”

According to them, the non-stop action and intrigue set a perfect stage for the type of global storytelling they strive for at SK Global.

Other Koontz adaptations

Previously, other Dean Koontz adaptations for the big screen include The Passengers, Demon Seed, Whispers, Watchers, Black River and more. His books are published in 38 languages with more than 500 million copies sold. Meanwhile, more than a dozen of those titles reached No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list.

Meanwhile, Koontz said he is delighted to have his material in the hands of such dedicated and accomplished producers. He added that when he heard the name Henry Golding, he instantly shouted, “Yes!” Koontz said that Mr. Golding will be “perfect” and “unforgettable” as Nameless.

  1. I just started book three from season 1 and found out about the “Nameless” books coming to TV and can’t wait to be told when and where I will be able to watch it.
