Season 2 of Emily in Paris on Netflix
The Netflix Original comedy-drama series Emily in Paris was initially slammed by many French critics. In fact, they slammed its stereotypical portrayal of the French. Despite this, Season 1 of the series went on to be a huge hit with viewers. This led to the series being renewed for a second season in November 2020.
Season 1 attracted several nominations for the Emmys, taking place later this year. Among these were production design for a narrative program and outstanding comedy series.
Since then, fans have been wondering when Season 2 of Emily in Paris would drop on the streamer and the news is, the release date is getting closer. In fact, filming for the second season wrapped in September and now Netflix has confirmed that it is coming in December 2021.
The series was created by Sex and the City creator Darren Star, who is also an executive producer. In fact, his own company, Darren Star Productions is responsible for the production of the series. That company is working together with Firstep Productions in Paris and Jax Media.

More recently, Lily Collins, who stars as Emily posted a series of images to Instagram, noting that filming had wrapped on Season 2 of Emily in Paris.
She captioned the images, “We are officially wrapped on Emily in Paris Season 2 and I still cannot quite believe it.” Collins went on to say that being in Paris with her family and the cast and crew over the last four months, plus 67 days of filming was a “most memorable experience.” She said she cherished every second of it.
What to expect from Season 2 of Emily in Paris on Netflix
A while back, Darren Star was interviewed by Oprah Magazine. He gave some insight on what fans can expect from Season 2. Star explained that Emily will be more a part of the fabric of the world in which she is living. He said that, in fact, she will be more of a resident of the city. Because of this, she will have her feet “on the ground a little more.” Basically, she is now making a life in Paris.
As noted by What’s on Netflix, in Season 1, Emily and Gabriel finally gave in to their attraction to each other. This means that fans can expect to see more of their relationship in the upcoming second season. However, with Gabriel’s ex, Camille, still on the scene there are sure to be some potentially awkward moments.

Naturally, Lily Collins returns as Emily Cooper, with Lucas Bravo as Gabriel. Meanwhile, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu is back as Sylvie Grateau and Ashley Park as Mindy Chen. Samuel Arnold returns as Julian, while Bruno Gouery will once again star at Luke. Moreover, Camille Razat stars as Camille, while William Abadie stars as Antoine Lambert.
