Netflix Launches Website Revealing Most Popular Titles Worldwide
Netflix just made things easier for viewers by launching a new website where you can check out the most popular titles. While previously, the streamer was cagey about the most popular TV shows and movies, now the information is readily available. Better yet, you can check the most popular titles in every country with Netflix representation.
Netflix launches popular titles website
You know the feeling – you get home from work tired, slump on the couch and wonder what to watch. Netflix has an endless selection of TV shows and films to choose from, which can make browsing an endless task.
However, now, after previously being pretty cagey about its most popular titles, Netflix is opening up to reveal what subscribers like to watch. This week, a new website was launched where the streaming giant reveals its most-watched TV shows and films on a weekly basis. Moreover, you can access the most popular titles in every country in which Netflix is represented.
On Tuesday each week, Netflix updates its Top 10 website to reveal the latest trends in four global charts. When it comes to movies, viewers can view the 10 most popular in English and the 10 most popular in other languages. Similarly, Netflix releases the top 10 most popular TV shows in English, along with the 10 most popular in other languages.
Speaking of the new popular titles website, Netflix wrote, “These lists rank titles based on weekly hours viewed: the total number of hours that our members around the world watched each title from Monday to Sunday of the previous week.”
Choosing something to watch on the streamer
With Netflix publishing country-specific lists each Tuesday, you can find out which TV shows and movies are popular in each country. While, as we know, not everyone has the same taste in TV shows and movies as you do, the website does reveal trends. If something is No. 1 on the list, it is probably worth bingeing right away, as long as the genre suits you.
For US viewers, the most popular TV titles for the week from November 8 to November 14 are as follows:
1. Narcos: Mexico: Season 3
2. Big Mouth: Season 5
3. You: Season 3
4. Squid Game: Season 1
5. Maid: Limited Series
6. The Thundermans: Season 1
7. CoComelon: Season 4
8. The Thundermans: Season 2
9. 60 Days In: Season 6
10. Arcane: Season 1
You can also see how many weeks the particular title has been in the top 10. For instance, Narcos: Mexico: Season 3 has been in the top 10 for two weeks. Meanwhile, the super-popular Squid Game Season 1, has been near the top for nine weeks but is slipping after being No. 1 for quite a while. Also, the almost equally popular Maid has made it for seven weeks in the top 10.
Top 10 movies on Netflix US
When it comes to movies, the following is this week’s top 10 on Netflix US. As we head closer to the festive season, it is not surprising to see a couple of Christmas movies listed – again each title reveals the number of weeks it has spent in the top 10 on the website:
1. Red Notice
2. Love Hard
3. The Harder They Fall
4. 21 Jump Street
5. Passing
6. Father Christmas Is Back
7. Army of Thieves
8. Seized
9. American Gangster
10. The Holiday
It certainly didn’t take the popular Netflix title Red Notice long to hit the top 10 for US! However, it is also a worthy idea to explore the most popular shows and movies in other regions of the world to find something great to binge.
You can head to this website to check out the latest top 10 most popular titles each week on Netflix. Happy browsing!
