Netflix: Star-Studded ‘Red Notice’ Gets Release Date & Trailer

Anyone in the mood for some action, a few thrills and a number of chuckles shouldn’t miss the new Netflix Original movie Red Notice. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Gal Gadot, this is one of Netflix’s most expensive projects yet.  Read on to find out more about this action-comedy-thriller movie coming to the streaming channel soon.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot, Red Notice is one of Netflix’s most lavish productions to date. Moreover, the action, comedy, thriller film was written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber.

While this is Thurber’s first time directing a Netflix film, it is his third collaboration with actor Dwayne Johnson. “The Rock” previously starred in Thurber’s movies Central Intelligence and Skyscraper. Meanwhile, Red Notice is Johnson’s first Netflix Original project.

What is the film about?

Dwayne Johnson (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Moana, Fast & Furious) plays an FBI agent and is considered to be the greatest tracker in the world. His character must catch the world’s most-wanted art thief after Interpol launches a Red Notice – a global alert for agents across the world.

The world’s greatest and most-wanted art thief is portrayed by Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman, Justice League, Fast & Furious). Meanwhile, Red Notice is also her first Netflix Original film. As for Ryan Reynolds, he plays the world’s greatest con-man, who ends up helping Johnson’s character catch the wily thief. This is the second Netflix Original for Reynolds (Deadpool, Buried) after starring in 6 Underground.

Who else stars in Red Notice?

While cast members are known, character names are yet to be revealed for Johnson, Gadot, Reynolds and the rest of the cast.

Other stars in the Netflix Original movie include Ritu Arya (The Umbrella Academy, Feel Good, Last Christmas) and Chris Diamantopoulos (The Three Stooges, Mickey Mouse, Justice League Action. Meanwhile Ivan Mbakop Loop, Victus, The Millennial) and Vincenzo Amato (Unbroken, Golden Door, Respiro) also star.

Red Notice filming and production

The majority of the filming of Red Notice took place in Atlanta, Georgia, with a week of shooting in Sardinia, Italy. Filming started in January 2020 but was paused from March to September 2020 by the global pandemic.

Production resumed on September 14, once health and safety measures were in place for the cast and crew. Filming of the Netflix Original officially wrapped in Italy on November 18, 2020.

When does the Netflix Original release?

As reported by Deadline, Red Notice will drop on Netflix on Friday, November 12, 2021. As for a trailer, an accidental tweet released an unofficial preview. While the clip, included below, is not the best quality, hopefully, Netflix will release a better quality trailer soon.
