Chris Hughes’ Money Issues Come To Light Amid JoJo Siwa Romance

Christ Hughes has become known for a variety of ventures, even since he was introduced to audiences through reality television. However, reports have recently claimed that he could be facing financial issues. This also comes out as his romance with singer and media personality JoJo Siwa has been making headlines.

Chris Hughes Met JoJo Siwa While On Celebrity Big Brother

Hughes became known to many after appearing on the third series of ITV2’s Love Island. Since then, he has pursued a number of other ventures, from music, as part of the musical duo Chris & Kem, to presenting live horse racing.

In 2025, Hughes became a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother. Through the show, he met media personality JoJo Siwa, with the two announcing that they were in a relationship the same year.

However, Hughes has also found himself getting attention for alleged financial issues behind the scenes. According to The Daily Mail, after Hughes left Love Island in 2017, he launched Chris Hughes Associates Ltd, a company tied to his burgeoning media career.

According to the outlet, a recent report claimed that the company owed £423,243, around $559,774, to creditors for the year ending July 31, 2024. The bulk of this, around $540,984, was listed under “taxation and social security costs.”

Reportedly, things escalated when the ax authority, His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs, filed a petition in August 2024 to have the company wound up. The case was dismissed in April of the following year. However, the debt stayed unresolved.

Hughes’ Company Could Also Be Facing Legal Issues After Failing To Submit A Statement Last Year

Reportedly, he later tried to shut down the company himself. That effort was blocked by a creditor, thought to be His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs.

This caused the closure process to be put on hold. This means the company’s future is uncertain.

In addition to the financial issues, the business also failed to submit a mandatory confirmation statement to Companies House in 2025. Failing to file is considered a criminal offense.

Despite all of this, Hughes is worth around £1.4 million, or $1.85 million. This is thanks to his television work, brand deals, and media appearances.

This also comes out as Hughes has gained further public attention thanks to his relationship with Siwa, who herself is known for appearing on Dance Moms and her musical career. Since then, the two have been known for making appearances together and even sharing projects.
