The View host Alyssa Farah Griffin has been trying to expand her family for years. She got married to Justin Griffin in 2021. The couple tried for over a year to conceive naturally. They eventually turned to IVF. The talk show host was open about her fertility struggles to help raise awareness on the issue. She went through five unsuccessful rounds of IVF.

She announced live on the ABC show in October 2025 that she was pregnant with her first child. Alyssa Farah Griffin hasn’t shared details about whether the pregnancy was the result of IVF. Justin and Alyssa Farah Griffin welcomed their son in February, just days after she went on maternity leave. The View just announced her return date. Keep reading to find out when she will be back.

How The View Handled Host’s Maternity Leave

Alyssa Farah Griffin recently introduced her newborn son to one of her co-hosts. When she went on maternity leave, the ABC show didn’t reveal how long she would be gone. As one of the most vocal conservative voices on the show, she had big shoes to fill.

The View brought in six temporary co-hosts to fill in while she was gone. The co-hosts included a controversial reality star, two former hosts and one fan-favorite comedian. The audience’s reactions to the guest hosts varied. Some, such as Savannah Chrisley and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, weren’t as welcomed by viewers as Amanda Carpenter and Sheryl Underwood were. In fact, Sheryl Underwood was so popular that fans began demanding she either replace Alyssa Farah Griffin full-time or that the show add an additional chair to the table.

Alyssa Farah Griffin’s Return Date Set

Alyssa Farah Griffin wasn’t the first host of The View to go on maternity leave. Meghan McCain and Sara Haines were among the other hosts to have babies during their time on the show. However, she may hold the record for shortest maternity leave.

Whoopi Goldberg announced on Thursday’s show that Alyssa Farah Griffin would be back the week after Easter. The View is on hiatus for the holiday and will air reruns in place of new episodes. ABC announced the exact date on Instagram. Alyssa Farah Griffin is back at the table on Monday, April 13, 2026.
