Jimmy Kimmel Targets JD Vance In ‘Herpes’ Monologue
Jimmy Kimmel has often weighed in on various current events on his late-night show. Recently, he shared a few choice words for Vice President JD Vance. This notably came with an unflattering comparison.
Jimmy Kimmel Gave A Warning To JD Vance That A New Role Might Not Be In His ‘Best Interest’
Kimmel is a comedian and television personality known for a variety of shows. For many, he is currently known as the host and executive producer of his namesake series, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which has aired since 2003.
As viewers of Kimmel’s live show know, he is no stranger to politics. Recently, Kimmel made an interesting comparison concerning Vice President JD Vance.

During a recent episode of his show, Kimmel discussed the Iran War. In particular, he was concerned about how the Gulf Nation was insisting that Vance lead negotiations on behalf of the U.S.
Kimmel expressed, “Iran sees JD Vance as a more acceptable diplomatic figure than Witkoff and Kushner in the same way a canker sore is more acceptable than herpes.” This was in reference to President Donald Trump originally picking Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, his Middle East envoy and son-in-law, respectively, to handle the peace talks.
Fans Also Shared Their Reactions To The Story On Social Media
Kimmel continued his monologue, painting Vance as some sort of lesser evil, claiming that this was the “first time anyone’s ever wanted to talk to Vance.” He also joked, “Even his wife Usha was like, ‘Are you sure they said JD?’”
Kimmel also shared concern that the story puts Vance in an awkward situation, since he wasn’t Trump’s first choice. As he joked, JD’s “So, it really isn’t in [Vance’s] best interest to do well in Iran because his White House key card might not work when he gets back to Washington

With Kimmel’s monologue being shared on social media, viewers have weighed in on the ramifications of Vance leading the negotiations. Some speculated that there could be an underlying purpose to his. One commenter speculated that replacing Trump’s “choice of negotiators with JD Vance should be seen as a masterclass maneuver.” They continued, saying it could “cause a split in the US cabinet… [And] forge internal rivalry between Trump and Vance.” Another commenter wrote that the move “also forces JD Vance to take [a] stance on the war.”
As noted by CNBC, this takes place as Iran allowed 10 oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz this week as a reported gift to the United States, according to President Trump. The president made this claim after insisting the U.S. has “very substantial talks going on with respect to Iran.” However, Tehran has denied any direct talks at this time.
