‘The Voice’ Country Singer Arrested For Homicide, Details
A country singer who appeared on The Voice was recently arrested in Oklahoma. Reportedly, this followed Tennessee authorities issuing a warrant. Police also previously asked locals for help in the case on social media.
The Voice Contestant Was Believed To Be Heading To Oklahoma With A Companion
Earlier this week, the Goodlettsville Police Department in Davidson County, Tennessee, put out an alert concerning a former contestant on The Voice. The warrant stems from a crash on Long Hollow Pike near I-65. There is very little information out on this wreck.
At the time, the contestant was thought to be traveling to Oklahoma with a companion. They were reportedly towing a large trailer.
In a post shared on Facebook, authorities called on locals for help. As the post shared, “The Goodlettsville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Ms. Kata Huddleston.”
Kata Hay, whose real name is Kata Huddleston, was a contestant on The Voice‘s 10th season. She would be eliminated during Week 1 of the live shows. This followed a performance of Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.”
As noted by Whisky Riff, however, Kata has faced legal troubles since her time on the show. In 2022, she was arrested in Sumner County, Tennessee, on charges of “having sexual contact with a 16-year-old.” She reportedly pleaded guilty and spent six months in jail.
Kata Hay Also Faces Other Charges Amid This Recent Arrest
With this more recent case, however, Kata faced a more serious charge. She was wanted on a warrant for vehicular homicide. According to TMZ, Hay also has an open DUI case, which is her second. She’s also been accused of leaving the scene of an accident, causing an estimated $1,500 in property damage and driving with an open container of alcohol. The accusations stem from a Dec. 10 incident.
As the outlet noted, a later update claimed that Kata had been taken into police custody in Oklahoma. It read, “The Goodlettsville Police Department would like to thank the multitude of citizens who called in with tips as to the location of Ms. Huddleston.”
The post continued, “As a direct result, we are pleased to announce that she was arrested early this morning in Oklahoma.” It was also shared that this was “where she will be extradited back to Davidson County.”
The outlet noted that it hasn’t appeared that she’s been extradited to Nashville at this time. The Davidson County jail also didn’t have her listed as currently being in their custody.
Kata also faces other pending charges in Davidson County. This includes “2nd offense DUI, leaving the scene of an accident over $1,500 in damage, and open container.”

Since her time on The Voice, Kata has continued her music career. As the outlet noted, she had been continuing to share music and videos on social media, including days before the crash.
