‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg Steps Up For Guest Suffering VMS Attack
Whoopi Goldberg is more than just a moderator on The View. She proved that with her kind act to help a guest suffering from a medical condition that many women are familiar with. Keep reading to find out more about the surprising incident on live TV.
What Is VMS
When women get to a certain age, they go through what the older generation calls “the change of life.” The silence surrounding the huge change has been broken in recent years. Now we call it what it is: menopause. VMS stands for Vasomotor Symptoms.

It includes the wide range of symptoms women experience when going through menopause, which can last anywhere from 7 to 14 years! That timeline includes perimenopause to postmenopause. The symptoms reach their peak during the middle of the change and decrease over time.
One of the most common symptoms of menopause is hot flashes. They can occur at any time with little to no warning. A guest on The View received acts of kindness from the co-hosts during the unexpected hot flash.
Whoopi Goldberg Steps Up For Guest Suffering VMS
Several of The View co-hosts have gone through menopause, including Whoopi Goldberg. Alyssa Farrah Griffin, who is pregnant with her first child, is years away from the change. Comedian Leslie Jones, 58, was a guest on the ABC talk show earlier this week to promote her upcoming standup special, Life Part 2.

But before she could begin promoting the special, she started sweating profusely. Despite wiping herself with a napkin, the sweat wouldn’t stop. She candidly admitted to the hosts that she’s going through menopause and dealing with constant hot flashes.
The other ladies at the table jumped into action. Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar tried to help the comedian by fanning her with their cue cards. But nothing helped. At that point, Whoopi Goldberg got up from the end of the table and went to help. She wiped Leslie Jones’ face off with a napkin, prompting the Saturday Night Live alum to quip, “This is a dream come true. Whoopi Goldberg wiping my sweat.”
