The View has been airing on ABC for nearly thirty years. The show presents a multitude of ideologies with a mix of hosts from across the political spectrum. Not surprisingly, the viewers at home also hold varying political opinions. Fans took to social media to defend two hosts in particular from an “overboard” amount of hate from other viewers.

‘The View’ fans don’t always agree with the hosts, but some fans think the hate for two of them has gone overboard.

Alyssa Farah Griffin Leaving The View Soon

Before she was on The View, Alyssa Farah Griffin was a member of President Trump’s first administration. She had several roles, including Secretary for the Department of Defense, before she resigned in 2020. She’s since become a vocal critic of the President, vowing never to vote for him again.

She joined the ABC talk show as an official co-host in 2022. Alyssa Farah Griffin married her husband, Justin Griffin, the previous year. After several failed attempts at IVF, she announced live on the show in October that they are expecting their first child.

Baby Boy Griffin arrives in February 2026. While The View hasn’t officially confirmed it, many fans assume the co-host will go on maternity leave shortly before the baby is born and return a few months later. Some viewers hope that she won’t return at all.

Fans Defend Two Hosts, Say ‘Hate Is Overboard’

Every single host of The View gets hate from fans. But Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sara Haines get the brunt of it, especially compared to long-running hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.

With Whoopi Goldberg off the show for the last week, the other hosts had more airtime, which led to more backlash from angry viewers.

One fan took to social media to put an end to the constant hate toward Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin. “The alyssa and sara hate is overboard now,” the fan wrote.

“Couldn’t agree more. It’s fine to disagree with Sara and Alyssa’s opinions, but wanting them kicked off the show because of their opinions isn’t right,” one fan agreed.

They added, “If all the hosts had the same exact opinion on everything what would be the point of calling the show “The View”?”

A third fan shared a similar sentiment, writing, I don’t always agree with them but these fans don’t care that Barbara’s original purpose of the show was to listen different points of view. If Meredith was still moderating, she’d be outraged of the fans response!”

The hosts of The View don’t always see eye to eye on many topics. One fan compared it to sisterly love. “Watching the View is like having sisters—sometimes a sister annoys you, sometimes they don’t,” they wrote.

As long as The View is on the air, fans are going to hate on the hosts but tell us in the comments if you think the hatred goes overboard sometimes.
