‘The View’ Fans Propose Replacement For Unpopular Host
Big changes are happening on talk shows across all the networks. The View faced strong cancellation rumors over the summer. Now, fans propose a shocking replacement for an unpopular host. Keep reading to find out who they want gone.
CBS Purges News Programs, Revamping Network
The hot topics on The View got really hot during the last season when the hosts constantly called out the current administration. This led to speculation that the show was getting canceled. The rumors turned out to be false, but there have been a lot of changes at other networks, notably CBS.

The network’s parent company, Paramount Global, merged with Skydance Media in a stunning acquisition. Before the merger went through, CBS announced it was canceling The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, effective in May 2026. It’s only gotten worse at the network since then.
CBS laid off thousands of employees, with more cuts to come. Gayle King is reportedly out at CBS Mornings. Deadline reported that several news anchors were let go, including correspondents Michelle Miller, Dana Jacobson, Lisa Ling, Debora Patta, Nikki Battiste, and Janet Shamlian.
Even more changes are expected as CBS moves away from political discourse and focuses on other areas. The View continues to focus on politics, despite backlash from even the President of the United States.
The View Fans Propose Replacement For Unpopular Host
After CBS canceled Stephen Colbert’s late-night talk show, the focus shifted to The View. Many fans feel that the show needs a reboot with new hosts. Alyssa Farah Griffin announced in October that she’s pregnant and expecting her first child in the spring.

She will most likely be off the air for a few months before and after the baby is born. Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, and Sunny Hostin are all great hosts, but viewers believe someone should step in to temporarily replace Alyssa Farah Griffin.
One fan of The View took to social media to propose that Lisa Ling return to the show, at least while the other co-host is on maternity leave. The journalist previously co-hosted the ABC talk show from 1999 until 2002. She left to explore other opportunities, including reporting internationally. Lisa Ling has returned as a guest host over the years since her departure. The former talk show host lives in Santa Monica, California, with her husband and kids.

“Since CBS is continuing their purge of anything that even suggests inclusion and fired Lisa Ling, I’d love to see her back. I don’t think she’d want to but maybe she can join from time to time as an alternate,” the fan wrote on social media. The idea was welcomed by other fans of The View.
- “Would be great to see Lisa fill in during Alyssa’s maternity leave! She was so good during the season 25 flashback days, showing she’s still a natural for this job.”
- “I loved her. She’s so smart.”
- “Lisa Ling is a true journalist, but it would be great to see her back from time to time or during A’s maternity leave.”
- “I love Lisa, would be amazing to see her on the View”
- “She can replace Sara Haines”
Neither Alyssa Farah Griffin or ABC has shared plans for her maternity leave. Tell us in the comments what you think about Lisa Ling potentially returning to The View.

No. Do not replace Sarah Haines. She is very good on The View. Why does anyone need to be replaced? There r 5 chairs and 5 hosts even if one host leaves they probably don’t need a replacement.🤨
yes get Lisa Ling. then I may watch the show again. can’t stand joy behar
That’s the way to go if you don’t like don’t watch. The true fans will continue to watch. That’s including all current 6 of them. The View doesn’t new another host. When one is out Ana steps in When two is out they find a replacement of their choice. For all the fake people who says they don’t watch the stop it.You looking at it somewhere you know to much about what’s going on.
Dump them all. They are like the saying can’t teach a dog new tricks. They only know how or want to be controversial, and many times just mean. Bring in all new faces and leave the politics behind. isn’t there enough negativity already? what’s the point in more?
Having different people with different points of view was the whole idea of the show. If they change it to four or five people with the same point of view, it would be a very boring show. It would be canceled the first month, if it lasted that long. Watching them reminds me of when I was young and my Mom and her friends always had coffee together. They would sit and talk about everything from soup to nuts. They would get a little loud at times but by the end, they were still good friends. Sometimes they may have changed their minds about some things.
I enjoy watching The View. I have been watching it since it first came on with Barbara, Joy, Meredith, Star, and Debbie back in 1997. I hope they stay on the air forever.
It is a very boring show and I no longer watch because they’re all rude and mean spirited. Differing opinions are wonderful but why be nasty because you don’t agree with them. The show needs a revamp.
I love Joy she great on the show!
It’s the VIEW opinions! Not lies and/or racial remarks! Truth to Power!
They need to shit can everyone of them there just a bunch of bias asses
they should have a quest on once a week! make it interesting to watch
I didn’t even know the show was still on. I prefer the news and not a roundtable argument.
Love the View. They do tell the truth, they have no reason to lie
