Pregnant Woman Shot Dead, Man Injured At Arlington Gas Station

Pregnant Woman Shot Dead in Arlington, Texas
Police in Arlington, Texas, are investigating a deadly shooting that left one woman dead and a man injured on Wednesday, November 12. According to the news release from the police, officers first received reports around 7:40 PM of gunfire involving vehicles traveling westbound on Interstate 20, about thirty miles from Dallas. Initial reports stated that at least one vehicle had been struck by bullets that were fired on the highway.

While officers were responding to that call, 911 dispatchers received a separate call from a man stating that he had been shot. The police quickly located the caller at a nearby QuikTrip gas station.
When officers arrived, they found two adults and two children in the vehicle. Both adults had been shot. The children were unharmed but visibly shaken by the scary incident. The woman was rushed to the hospital, where she died. Police later discovered that she was pregnant, theĀ Dallas Morning News reported.
The female victim was identified as 29-year-old Breasia Simone Johnson. She died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The cause of death was from a gunshot wound to the torso.

The incident, which unfolded on a busy stretch of Interstate 20 and later at a nearby gas station, also involved two young children who were fortunately not physically harmed.
Injured Man Drove To Gas Station
The man who was shot drove the car to the gas station, where he called 911. He was also taken to a hospital and treated for his injuries. The police have not released his identity or updated his current condition. The authorities also haven’t revealed how the two victims are connected or their relationship to the children found unharmed in the vehicle.

After the initial response, the Arlington police learned that a second vehicle had also been struck by gunfire during the incident on I-20. However, no one inside that vehicle was injured.
As of Thursday, the police confirmed that no arrests had been made and no suspect information had been released. Detectives continue to investigate the incident, including where the gunfire originated and how many shots were fired. The authorities are interested in finding out if the shooting was targeted or random. They have not commented on whether the adults involved might have known the shooter, or if road rage may have played a role in the tragic incident.
