Fans Accuse ‘Ghost Adventures’ Of ‘Fake Orbs’
Viewers have been watching Ghost Adventures for years, watching all sorts of paranormal investigations, with it recently returning for Season 30. However, some fans are starting to wonder about what they are seeing on the show. Recently, many have taken to social media to debate the issue.
Ghost Adventures Has Looked Into Multiple Supernatural Stories Since 2008
Ghost Adventures is a paranormal-themed reality series. Originally premiering on the Travel Channel in 2008, it has also aired on Discovery+ and the Discovery Channel.
The series follows various ghost hunters, including Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley, and Jay Wasley, as they investigate reported hauntings. Inspired by the indie film of the same name, which previously aired on the SciFi Channel, the team originally investigated reports of the paranormal in Nevada.

However, the series took them across the country, with them facing various local legends. This included supposedly haunted prisons, theatres, hospitals, and even castles.
As with many shows dealing with the supernatural, however, there are naturally going to be skeptics. However, there are times when even fans wonder if what they are seeing was just made up for the show. In particular, some are concerned with what the show is capable of.
Recently, fans have taken to social media to ask about the show’s potential use of AI. As one fan recently wrote, “Anyone else concerned that if they’re using AI for transition scenes, how do we know they aren’t using AI to create fake orbs or other evidence? Sigh.”
Some Fans Think, Even With The Proliferation Of AI In Media, They Should Trust Their Favorite Ghost Hunters
However, many fans came to the show’s defense, feeling that the cast are professionals who have been working on the show for years. As they felt, they wouldn’t want to risk alienating their fanbase with such tricks.
One fan noted, “Zak is a film student that followed his passion to make documentaries. His mission is to prove ghost exists. He doesn’t strike me as one that would cheapen his craft with AI. That would ruin his credibility. Too much on the line to fake it with AI.”

The use of AI in media has become an increasingly common topic of discussion. However, while some fans feel its use appearing in mainstream shows in unavoidable, that doesn’t mean fans should start to doubt their favorite shows. Some comments included:
- “They have worked years to build their credibility, their reputation.”
- “Hmmm, I don’t think there are fake orbs like the OG posted. I agree with the comments, no way would he cheapen his craft with AI fake orbs.”
- “Now you’re just being delusional.”
- “Everything is going to use AI now so I come to terms with the B roll stuff. But I don’t think they’ll use AI in evidence its easy to spot AI artifacts. Tbh I rather them fake evidence over AI faked evidence lol.”
