Alaskan Bush People‘s Bear Brown Called On Fans In A Recent TikTok Video
Viewers were introduced to Bear Brown and his family through the reality series, Alaskan Bush People. Originally running from 2014 to 2022, this series showcased the Brown family as they lived off the grid around Hoonah, Alaska.
Bear has also continued to keep in touch with fans on social media, sharing various updates about his life. Occasionally, he has even reached out to fans to ask for help and advice.

In a recent video on TikTok, Bear had a “mechanical question” of sorts. As he started out, he explained that he wasn’t a mechanic “whatsoever.”
Bear explained that he was having problems with his car’s heater, noting that it wasn’t working at all for him at times. He also shared that he let it stay “idle,” for around half an hour, for it still not to work. However, he noted that driving seems to get the car going.
Recently, Bear noted that he tried using the gas pedal after it had remained idle for some time. He shared that, almost instantly, hot air started to blast through the vents. He then called on his audience, asking if they had any ideas why his car was like this, also noting that he tries to use gas sparingly.
Many Fans Took To The Comments To Suggest What They Thought Was The Issue
Taking to the comments, fans seemed to suspect low coolant was the issue. As one fan noted, “Most likely caused by a low coolant level, a failing thermostat, or a clogged heater core.”
“When your car just idles there isn’t enough coolant flow to heat the air, but when you push the gas the increased flow sends hot coolant to the heater core, and you feel the heat. Hope this helps.”
This was a common idea throughout the comments. Naturally, many also shared advice on what Bear could do to fix the issue. Some comments included:
- “Low on antifreeze or heater core might be getting plugged up but check the coolant first worked at a shop for years came across this problem often.”
- “Definitely low and coolant had the same issue and some water or antifreeze and you’ll notice it coming on while you’re idling.”
- “Your heater core could be clogged. A few years ago this happened to me. I didn’t have any heat unless i was doing at least 30mph.”
- “Vacuum line to the dampener door for fresh air intake to the cabin. This Vacuum line runs to the temperature control knob on the panel.”
- “if it’s an older vehicle it uses the vacuum system to open up the valve going to the heater core. Possibly a vacuum leak somewhere and when it gives enough rpm it pulls enough vacuum to open.”
