Texas Boy, 11, Critically Injured In Hit & Run
Many of us remember being young and hanging out with our friends around town. Our parents knew we would come home eventually. One mother in Texas faced her worst nightmare when her son didn’t come home.
Instead, the boy, 11, is in the hospital after being hit by a car in a serious hit & run accident. According to Shanekia Lipscomb, her son E’Mahree was hit by a vehicle on September 12 around 9 p.m. The driver reportedly did not stop.

The young boy was rushed to Dallas Children’s Hospital. He sustained multiple fractures and cuts in the accident. The incident happened in Paris, Texas.
Statistically, hit & run accidents are alarmingly common in the United States. Data suggests that a hit & run accident occurs every 43 seconds. A lot of factors are responsible for the accidents, including distracted or drunk driving.
Accidents involving vehicles are one of the main causes of death in the United States. But the good news is that hit & runs only have a 1% fatality rate. However, the drivers aren’t always found.
His Mom Pleads For Help
Shanekia Lipscomb took to social media to beg for help from the public. She wants to find the person who ran her son down. She also created a GoFundMe to raise money for “bills” and “hygiene products” while her son is hospitalized.
So far, the fund has raised over $5,000.
She revealed the extent of the boy’s injuries. “My son sustained fractures over most of his face, a fractured left wrist and right foot in 2 places, and a punctured right Achilles. We are at Dallas Children’s until they release him,” she wrote on the GoFundMe.

Social media users rallied around the Texas mother and her young son. One person wrote, “These hit and runs are getting ridiculous” on social media. Hundreds of others offered their prayers for the boy’s recovery.
Latest Update
As of publication, the driver hasn’t been identified or found yet. The police continue to investigate. As for the young boy, his mother shared a hopeful update.
“E’Mahree has passed his physical therapy sessions pending follow up for fractures. Opthalmology will look at his eyes for damage and dental will have to check for mouth damage such as teeth after the fractures in his face heal,” she wrote on the GoFundMe page.
The boy has a long recovery ahead of him. Hopefully, the driver feels remorse and turns himself in soon.
