Taking to the comments, fans also shared their reactions to the post. A few disliked the idea of the walls being painted over and offered a few other suggestions. Some comments included:

  • “This is too lovely to paint over. If someone insists on covering it (temporarily), might I suggest using a temporary wallpaper designed to not damage paint. Your mural may first need a coat of clear varnish, but it’d be worth it. This was my solution when my baby outgrew a mural.”
  • “Keep it for the grandchildren!! Great clouds, Ken.”
  • “Your hidden talent! I remember when you showcased an alphabet-themed painting (wall border possibly?) on your blog way back when (could it have been when kid #2 was born?? can I possibly be THAT old??)”
  • “Great paint job. I’d keep it.”
  • “Have 4 more kids and keep painting stuff and one day you can name it the 6th Teen Chapel.”
