CBS Shake-Up: ‘Price Is Right’ Replaces Showrunner With New Lead
A new showrunner has been announced for CBS’ long-running game show, The Price is Right. Notably, the figure is an established game show veteran. This will also come with another figure leaving the show. Some of the other changes coming for the show have already been themed.
Another New Figure Will ‘Come On Down’ To The Price Is Right
Viewers have been tuning into The Price is Right since 1972. Since then, fans have watched all sorts of games, as well as different people helping to bring the show to life.
This includes hosts, announcers, and models. However, the show recently announced another new figure helping to add their own touch to the long-running show.
According to Variety, John Quinn has been announced as a new showrunner for The Price is Right. Quinn already has quite the history with game shows.
Back in 2019, Quinn was previously named as a showrunner for Let’s Make a Deal. He will remain in this role along with his new duties with The Price is Right.
That same year, Quinn was also named as a showrunner for Press Your Luck. He also served as a showrunner for Password during its first two seasons.
Quinn is taking over duties from Evelyn Warfel, who was announced as a showrunner in 2019. At the time, she made history as the first woman to lead the show.
Quinn is currently working on The Price is Right‘s Season 54. Viewers will soon get to see his touch on the show, as this season is expected to debut on CBS in September.
Fans Have Already Gotten A Tease On What To Expect With Season 54
With his new role, Quinn is set to bring a variety of themed episodes to the show. These include “Breast Cancer Awareness, Valentine’s Day, Pet Adoption Week, Mother’s Day, and School’s Out.” The season premiere will also feature a new game, the first new addition since 2021.
For his part, Quinn shared that he’s been a fan of the show for years, noting, “It’s the show we all watched during summer break and when we were home sick from school. This show is a major reason why I work on game shows in the first place, so to be a part of it now is an honor that I do not take lightly.”
