America’s Got Talent is one of the most popular reality competition shows around. Even so, there is a lot of uncertainty going around when it comes to the show’s future. Recently, an insider opened up about everything going on behind the scenes, including two potential judges getting cut. So, what do we know about this situation so far?
America’s Got Talent Is In The Middle Of Season 20
For fans of America’s Got Talent who are currently keeping up with the show, the reality talent competition is in the middle of Season 20. Considering the fact that AGT almost did not get off the ground, it has come a long way, and has been on the air now for many years.
While many America’s Got Talent fans are currently taking in the new season that is on the air, as well as all the competitors hoping to make it beyond the quarterfinals, there are always questions surrounding the future of the program, especially with regular speculation about whether or not Simon Cowell will soon hang it up and retire after many years in the entertainment industry.

AGT: Insider Dishes On Show’s Future, 2 Judges Getting The Boot?
In addition to being the face of America’s Got Talent, as well as a judge, Simon Cowell also has the power of an executive producer. This means that he has a lot of say when it comes to how the show is run, both on-camera and off. Based on what an insider had to say recently to The US Sun, there is a lot of uncertainty going on behind the scenes, including things relating to future seasons of the program.
According to the recent insider, two popular judges could be at risk of getting cut as well. While Season 21 has already been confirmed, this inside source said that it’s still “way too early” for the judging panel to be locked in for the upcoming season.
The insider said, “No one knows for sure because no decisions have been made but, I doubt it will be the same exact four judges. Howie and Simon have longer-term, more stable contracts. When Sofia first signed on, I believe it was initially a 3-year contract or something like that. And there’s a mutual option for both her and the network to renew by the year following. Which, clearly, they have been doing.”

The insider continued, adding, “Mel. I want to say is on a year-by-year contract. So it depends more on the ladies and what the show, or honestly what Simon, says. Basically, anyone who wants a job on the show has to get it approved by him and stay on his good side. He’s got the most say, but it’s not solely his decision.”
