‘Duck Dynasty’ Willie Robertson Shares Father’s Final Request Before Passing Away
Back in May, the Robertson family of Duck Dynasty fame said goodbye to their beloved patriarch, Phil Robertson. Since his passing, Willie has recently opened up about his father’s final moments, including his last request. He and his spouse, Korie, also shared a few updates concerning Miss Kay Robertson.
Willie Robertson Shared Something That Gave The Family Comfort During Phil’s Last Moments
Many viewers were introduced to Phil Robertson and his family through the A&E series, Duck Dynasty. Phil had been the founder of Duck Commander, which specialized in hunting products, particularly its namesake duck call.
Tragically, Phil passed away on May 25, 2025. This followed the family sharing various health reports concerning Phil, including an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. He was 79 at the time of his passing. Phil’s passing also came out a few days before the debut of Duck Dynasty: The Revival.
Since his passing, Phil’s family shared various tributes to the family patriarch through various outlets. Recently, his son, Willie, has opened up about his father’s final moments.
Speaking with Komo News, Willie shared his father’s last words at a press junket, talking with Courtney Tezeno. He revealed, “He told us all, do not cry. I’m so happy about where I’m going and where I’m heading.”
The family found comfort in how Phil found solace in his faith. Willie continued, “That gave us real joy to see what kind of faith he had, and didn’t lose that, or didn’t turn away at all.”
The Duck Dynasty Star Also Shared A Few Updates About His Mother, Miss Kay
Willie also confided that his mother, “Miss Kay,” was impacted the most by Phil’s passing. He shared, “I think she really struggled with it just more than probably we even realized. Losing her partner, for probably 60 years she’s been with dad, and I think it was probably some depression there that she went through. As well as some struggles of her own with her health.”
That said, Willie had a positive update about the Duck Dynasty matriarch. He added, “Mama Kay is doing good today. She has been so up and down. It’s been crazy.”
According to Willie, Kay has her bad and her good days. She has dealt with fading memories, but “she’s still funny and spicy.”
Willie’s spouse, Korie, also added that Kay often gives Willie a hard time for not visiting her, often not remembering he visited her the day before.
Willie confided, “It’s bad. It’s so terrible to watch them go down. The only positive that you can take from that is you do get yourself mentally prepared and spiritually prepared, because you know kind of what’s coming.”
Willie also shared he found comfort in his own faith, citing a Biblical passage his father was fond of: 1 Corinthians chapter 15. He shared, “It’s long. It’s like 60 verses, but the end of it, it says, ‘Where [O] death is your victory?’ Then it says this is the power to overcome death as we know it on this earth is to go into something else.”
