‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Denounces Recent Death Rumors
One of the stars of Duck Dynasty fame has recently been subject to rumors claiming they had passed away. However, they have recently taken to social media to denounce these claims themselves. That said, this comes out amid real tragedies recently impacting the Robertson family.
The Duck Dynasty Family Recently Endured The Loss Of Family Patriarch Phil Robertson
Fans were introduced to the Robertson family and the Duck Commander business through the Duck Dynasty series. The A&E series originally ran from 2012 to 2017. However, a reboot of the series, Duck Dynasty: The Revival, premiered this past June.
This came out amid a recent tragedy impacting the Robertson family. Duck Commander founder and family patriarch Phil Robertson passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 79.

Since then, another member of the family has been the subject of death rumors. These stories claimed Kay Robertson, also known as “Miss Kay,” has also passed away.
Kay, who was married to Phil from 1966 to 2025, recently dispelled these rumors herself while appearing on the “Duck Call Room” podcast. The family matriarch shared, “I’m tired of being dead.”
During the episode, her son Al chimed in, “There’s been more fake AI internet deaths for mom since dad crossed over.” He noted that various fake articles feature different members of the family allegedly giving eulogies, aside fake images of Kay. In addition, he shared that Uncle Si had also been the subject of similar rumors.
Al continued, “Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.” Poking fun at an old adage, he mused, “Tales of your demise have been greatly exaggerated, ‘cause you’re here today. So this is the proof-of-life video.”
The Family Also Talked About What Life Was Like Adjusting To Losing Phil
During the podcast, it was teased that Kay was the star of the original Duck Dynasty. Thanks to this, it was teased that Willie Robertson was interested in getting her “out of retirement,” with her appearing on the revival series early on. It was further teased that he was “trying to squeeze every bit of work out of you that he could possibly get,” with Kay adding in, “Yeah, before I die.”
During the discussion, the family also talked about adjusting the life following the passing of Phil. Al shared, “Obviously this was a hard deal for all of us, but it was especially hard for Mom. She said, ‘I’m tired of people saying how good I look. My husband just died. It’s not like I’m back on the market.'”
Al continued, “I was like, Mom, they’re not saying … ‘Do you wanna date?’ they’re saying, ‘You look amazing.’” Kay noted, “Well, I thought I should look sad.”
