‘Big Brother’ Houseguest Caught Using Derogatory Slur During Live Feed
Big Brother fans know that a huge part of the franchise is the 24/7 live feeds, which allow fans to tune in at any time to watch. However, a contestant on Big Brother has recently come under fire for using an offensive slur during such a live feed. Fans have since been reacting to the moment on social media, even comparing the moment to a previous incident with the show.
The Big Brother Contestant Wasn’t Immediately Sure The Moment Was Caught Live
Big Brother, which is based on the Dutch show of the same name, follows a group of contestants, also known as “houseguests,” who live in an isolated house, competing for a cash prize. As part of the show’s format, the houseguests are regularly monitored with cameras and audio microphones.
Thanks to this, viewers can also watch various contestants during these live feeds. However, a contestant on the show has recently come under fire for using a derogatory slur during such a feed.

As shared by TMZ, contestant Isaiah “Zae” Frederich could be seen playing chess with fellow houseguest Keanu Soto. During the live feed, Frederich could be heard saying, “Oh s**t. I’m a f***ing r****d.”
Frederich realized what he said a bit after the fact, noting, “Damn, I shouldn’t say that word.” Soto then reported, “No, you shouldn’t.” At the time, there was concern if that moment was caught during the live feed, which was indeed the case.
Fans Compared The Moment To A Similar Incident From Back In 2023
Frederich noted he had been trying to watch his language while on the show. He shared, “That’s one of the ones I was working on not saying.” Soto mused, “I think you’re good … you’re lucky it’s late,” with the two laughing off the moment.
That said, the moment drew criticism online. A few fans compared the moment to a similar one from 2023, when contestant Luke Valnetine came under fire for using the N-word on camera. At the time, CBS issued the following statement: “Luke violated the Big Brother code of conduct and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur.” However, CBS has not responded to the moment concerning Frederich at this time.

Taking to social media, many fans criticized the moment. In particular, many took issue with how the language was laughed off during the moment. As noted by Daily Mail, one fan wrote on X, “People are joking and being sarcastic but people casually dropping the R word as a slur is legit infuriating.”
Another fan wrote, “What is problematic is saying that was ONE of the words you were working on NOT saying. So he’s aware he says inappropriate words BUT only feels they’re inappropriate when being filmed 24 hours.”
