‘AGT’ Sofia Vergara Takes Jab At Mel B, Feuding Already?
America’s Got Talent is back for another season. The show premiered Tuesday night, and fans are raving. This episode kicked off Season 20 with a lot of interesting talents. AGT also welcomed back Mel B as a judge. She had left the show in 2018, and this is her first time back. It also marks the first time that Sofia Vergara has worked with Mel B. Sofia joined the show in 2020. Now, on premiere night, it seems that Sofia has already taken a jab at Mel. Could these two ladies be feuding already? Keep reading to get all the details.
AGT Fans Noticed Some Animosity Between Sofia Vergara And Mel B
According to both Sofia Vergara and Mel B, the first time they met was when they arrived to film the premiere of AGT Season 20. Mel told Sofia it was nice to meet her, as they gave each other a hug.
They seemed fine at first, but as the show kicked off and the first audition came on stage, there was noticeable tension between the two ladies. The first contestant to appear on stage was Eric Booker. His talent was being able to quickly swallow entire jars of weird contents. Some of the contents included hot sauce, pickle juice, and hot dog water.
Everyone except the former Spice Girl, Mel B, seemed intrigued by what Eric was doing. However, Mel B did not like it at all. It only took a few seconds for her to slam her hand down on her X buzzer.
Since the other judges didn’t immediately join in to stop the strange audition, Mel sat back with her arms crossed with a pouty look on her face. She very openly said that she didn’t like it at all. Howie Mandel told her, “You’re grumpy.”
As Mel continued to pout, Sofia told Simon Cowell that she seemed very displeased. Sofia said, “I mean, she just got here and she’s already putting red.” Simon replied to her, saying, “I know, a bit grumpy.” So, night one, and it seems some shade was already being thrown.
Eric did not make it through to the next round, and Mel B encouraged him to take care of himself. She noted that what he’s doing could hurt his stomach.
More About The Situation
An inside source spoke with The Sun and shared that during filming, the two ladies seemed to give off “icy vibes” with one another. They reportedly never spoke to each other off-camera and did not make eye contact. Things appeared rather tense to those around them.
The source went on to say,
“Mel barely acknowledged Sofia when they weren’t recording. Mel spent most of the time talking to Howie, who she was sat right next to, or even got up to talk to Simon. But even though Sofia was right on the other side of her, they barely spoke or even made eye contact when the cameras went down.”
