Mel B Back On AGT After Firing
Spice Girls singer Mel B was a hot judge on AGT from Seasons 8 through 13. After that, she was let go, although the stories are a bit mixed on what really happened. Mel B had this to say about her co-judge, Simon Cowell, axing her from the program:
“Simon [Cowell] fired me! He said he didn’t, but he did!”
At the time, there was a lot going on in her life, and she was being drastically affected. Upon her exit, Gabrielle Union was brought in as a replacement. She stayed just one season with Sofia Vergara taking over, and she has been there ever since. Now, Mel B is returning to her old post and is in a much better spot:
“The last time I did it, I was in a very different place. I was dealing with a very emotionally abusive marriage that was falling apart. My dad had died. There was a lot going on for me, but one thing that actually [was] my savior was that I got to be at that desk every day.”
However, it is a bit shocking that she is back, and it seems that she begged to return. She admitted that she loved being on the show, and it being the twentieth anniversary was perfect timing. Mel B will be taking over for Heidi Klum for the season, which is a big deal. Moreover, she will also work alongside her replacement, Sofia Vergara.

A New Chapter
AGT fans are thrilled to have Mel B back on the series, although they will miss Heidi Klum. However, it is a big season, and that makes everything more exciting. Mel B shared why she needed to come back when she did:
“I mean, why not? It was perfect timing.”
Fellow judge Howie Mandel added that Mel B will get to work with him, which is a major bonus. To that, she stated:
“You know, I thought, well, I love working with you guys.”
