‘American Idol’ Judges Too Nice, Fans Demand Simon Cowell Return
American Idol fans have been discussing the current and most recent seasons of the show. A lot of the talk has been about how voting seems unfair and how the judges do not give enough constructive criticism. Some fans are even saying that the current panel of judges, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie, are too nice. American Idol Fans Want Simon Cowell Back
American Idol fans wish they had Simon Cowell, and some are demanding that it happen. When Simon was on board and part of the judging panel, the contestants actually got criticism meant to make them better.
Some will argue that Cowell is too harsh on contestants. However, many felt it prepared them for the music industry and the snakes that will eat them alive in the real world. When Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul were judges, they never held back and offered constructive criticism to help the performer grow.
This season, the show featured three judges, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Lionel Richie. Opinions were mixed about their abilities to judge and provide actual feedback. Some fans noted that they like the softer side of the judges. Many felt like Simon’s way was too harsh most of the time.
However, the majority believes the show and the performers would have better success if Simon were back on the panel and dishing out his nasty critiques like he did in the past. Right now, many agree that the current judges are more like cheerleaders than actual judges.
One fan said, “Simon, Paula and Randy were the best. Yes they were harsh at times. You could tell the contestants really listened to them, especially Simon (even though he was harsh). The contestants are going in the music industry. They aren’t always great and they do make some bad song choices. It’s better for them to hear the harsh criticism now and work to get better.”
Who Won This Season Of The Show?
The season finale of American Idol aired on Sunday night. The show began with three finalists. Breanna Nix was sent home early in the show, leaving Jamal Roberts and John Foster to compete for the title.
America voted, and the winner was announced. Jamal Roberts was given the title of the 2025 American Idol. Most believed it was well deserved, and liked him a lot throughout the season.
However, many also like John Foster and feel like even without the title, he will go on to have a successful singing career in country music. He even mentioned that if given the opportunity, he would not turn down Dancing With the Stars.
The judges all expressed their happiness for Jamal and all the finalists. Right now, it’s unclear who will be back next season as judges. Sadly, it most likely won’t be Simon Cowell.
