Xander and Sarah’s marriage has began to face a crisis on Days of Our Lives. Fans are starting to wonder what will happen for the couple next. In fact, both Sarah and Xander’s actors, Linsey Godfrey and Paul Telfer have weighed in on the story.

Fans Have Seen Xander & Sarah Go Through A Lot On Days Of Our Lives

Since Xander’s return to the soap in 2019, he and Sarah’s love story would see its ups-and-downs. Fans have seen them through marriages, divorce, reconciliation, and the birth of their daughter, Victoria. However, the couple recently endured another crisis.

Events have seen Xander’s half-brother Philip return to Salem. With the help of Vivian, he forged a letter claiming that his late father Victor wanted the brothers to run Titan Industries together.

After a few months, the truth came to light. However, Xander had to be careful with what to do next, as exposing Philip could be bad for Titan’s image.

Things reached a heated point, with Xander and Philip getting into a fight in a hotel room. After being attacked, Philip revealed something that would rock Xander’s world. His wife Sarah knew the truth, but kept it from him.

With this recent betrayal, viewers have also been wondering just what will happen to th couple. Since the revelation, both Sarah and Xander’s actors have spoken about what could happen next.

Speaking with Soap Opera Digest, Sarah’s actress, Linsey Godfrey, shared that her character thought she was doing what was right. She shared, “I don’t think Sarah ever feels like the reason behind it was wrong. She knows that lying is not great, and she’s aware of the fact that lying is wrong. But this is one of those ‘you do something wrong for the right reasons’ things.”

That said, Godfrey acknowledged that Sarah still felt bad about lying to Xander. She noted, “As much as she feels [justified], she obviously never wants to hurt him. She loves him to bits.”

Godfrey also weighed in on what she and Xander’s actor, Paul Telfer, wants to happen to the couple. She shared, “Paul and I would like to be like Johnny and Chanel for a little bit and be happy for a while, although I know that they’re going through some stuff.”

“Paul and I both would love for them to just stay together and be happy. So there’s what we want and what the soap gods want for us. We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but there’s definitely some really great scenes coming up between the two of them.”

For his part, Telfer also spoke about the story with the publication. For his part, he felt Sarah’s actions weren’t unwarranted. As he shared, “[Sarah] did a bad thing and she was wrong to do it, but her motivations made total sense if you look at it on paper and look at Xander’s behavior over the years.”

As Telfer put it, “Sarah thought that she knew enough to be able to wrangle Xander with falsehoods to control his behavior just a little bit and protect everyone. But specifically protect their marriage, her, and their daughter from his potential outbursts.”

While Telfer could see Sarah’s side of the story, that asks the question is Xander will be the same. The actor also touched on what would happen next for the couple. As he shared, “It’s like the whole world is crumbling around them. The ground is literally disintegrating beneath their feet, and it’s just awful.”
