Sneak Peek: Bo & Hope Brady’s Big Return To ‘Days Of Our Lives’
Longtime Days of Our Lives fans don’t want to miss this week’s episodes. Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso finally return to the soap as Bo & Hope Brady. But it might be the end of their romance as the show teases Bo’s death. Keep reading to see the sneak peek of what’s to come.
Peter Reckell Wants His Job Back
Days of Our Lives fans were heartbroken in 2015 when fan-favorite actor Peter Reckell left the show. He began playing Bo Brady in 1983. Viewers fell in love with the bad boy at the same time that Hope (Kristian Alfonso) did.
The show gave Bo a brain tumor, and he died in Hope’s arms in November 2015. The actor returned for a special episode in 2016. In 2022, Peter Reckell joined Season 2 of the Peacock spinoff Beyond Salem. Bo Brady was caught between Heaven and Hell and fought throughout the five-episode miniseries to return to the living to be with Hope. Once he made his way out of purgatory, it was revealed that Bo was resurrected and under mind control by Megan Hathaway.
Just when Hope got through to him, their son, Shawn-Douglas Brady, shot Bo to save his mother from perceived danger. Bo has been in a coma off-screen since 2023. Peter Reckell returns to the soap opera this week as Bo is back on canvas.
But actor Peter Reckell has been vocal on social media about his desire to return to the soap full-time, not just for a short storyline.
Bo & Hope Reunite For Huge Anniversary
The good news for Days of Our Lives fans is that Bo & Hope reunite this week on the Peacock soap. But Bo is still in a coma and on the brink of death. His sister Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) recently found out that Bo is dying from sepsis and desperately needs a medication that a doctor refuses to provide. Shawn-Douglas is on a mission to get the medication no matter what it takes. But will he get it in time?
It was announced in September 2024 that Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso were returning to the soap. But due to the shooting schedule at Days, the episodes are only airing now. But it’s perfect timing because the characters celebrate a huge anniversary this month.
Bo and Hope got married (for the first time) on May 23, 1985. Fans can expect a lot of flashbacks from Bo & Hope’s relationship as Hope reflects on their wedding forty years ago and other special moments.

Days of Our Lives viewers welcomed new head writers to the show last month. Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford replaced Ron Carlivati last year, but their storylines just started airing in April.
The new writers were tasked with writing John Black’s exit storyline after actor Drake Hogestyn passed away in late 2024. But John Black isn’t the only one in danger. A new preview clip teases Bo getting his last rites before he dies.
Will the show really kill off the beloved character? It’s possible. They have before. Furthermore, the new head writers revealed that a previous exit storyline for Bo & Hope was scrapped by the previous head writer.
“Bo/Hope’s previous exit story could not be executed as originally planned, and we felt we needed to give them — and their fans — the resolution they deserved,” they told TV Insider about the upcoming storyline with Bo and Hope.
Even if Bo doesn’t die, it sounds like Bo and Hope won’t be in Salem for much longer. Share your reaction in the comments.
