Mama June star Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson is back with a new interview where she opened up about her relationship with her mother, June Shannon. Things have been complicated between the two. June has been trying her best to fix all the mess she made. Alana has already expressed that she has forgiven her mother. Alana grew up in a chaotic family due to June’s drug addiction. It came to a point where June used their TV earnings for drugs and prioritized her man over anyone around her. June also stole the $35,000 earnings of Alana from Dancing With The Stars, which ultimately resulted in a huge rift in their relationship. June eventually gave up her custody of Honey Boo Boo after her life spiraled out of control. But it seems Alana has matured into a wise child, looking past her difficult childhood.
Honey Boo Boo Forgives Mama June, Not Sugar Bear, Why?
Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson recently participated in an interview where she opened up about her status with her mom, June. According to Alana, she was often asked if she had already forgiven her mother, and she would often say that she’s her mom after all, adding that she has already set aside all their rough history. But later in the interview, the Mama June star was asked about her relationship with her father, Mike.
According to Alana, she doesn’t have any sort of relationship with Mike today. She added that there are a lot of things that her dad has done that nobody knows. Alana decided not to open up about it, as she doesn’t feel comfortable recalling her traumatic past. Regardless, there’s a part of her that believes her dad did play a role in June’s changes, adding that things wouldn’t turn out the way they did if her mom had listened to her dad sooner.
Mama June: Alana Thompson Shares Mother’s Changes
During the same interview, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson also opened up about the changes her mother has been making for herself. She proudly shared that her mom no longer does drugs, adding that she has become more of an anti-drug person. Alana doesn’t have any expectations from her mother anymore, but she’s happy with the journey June is taking today. The Mama June star is also hopeful that her mom will continue on her path and never look back.
Mama June: Family Crisis Season 7 will premiere on May 30, 2025, on WeTV. The first episode of the season will feature the aftermath of Alana’s allegations that her mother stole her money.
