‘Mama June’ Alana Thompson’s Ex-Stepmom Officially Engaged
Mama June star Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson has witnessed the downfall of her parents’ marriage over the years. Her father, Mike, officially split with her biological mother, June “Mama June” Shannon, in 2014. Mike then married Jennifer Thompson. Mama June: Why Did Jennifer & Mike Thompson Split?
While the reason behind their split wasn’t fully revealed, many fans believe that Mike’s history of being an unfaithful partner played a significant role in his divorce from Jennifer. June accused Mike of cheating when they were still together. Mike was reportedly sent to rehab in 2023 over an alleged drug addiction. In a social media statement, Jennifer admitted that it was hard, but they will work through their separation and remain friends. She continued, “So now when everyone sees us and we are not together, everyone will know what’s going on.”
Alana’s Ex-Step Mom Officially Engaged
Jennifer Thompson recently took to social media to announce that she’s now engaged to her new man, Alvey Lamb. According to Jennifer, Alvey proposed to her while they were hanging out playing billiards. The Mama June star also shared photos of Alvey getting down on his knees with a ring filled with diamonds. The two were also wearing couple shirts saying they stole each other’s hearts. Many fans also celebrated Jennifer’s engagement. Jennifer and Alvey have yet to share their wedding date, but a lot of people are now looking forward to their big day.
Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson has yet to address her ex-stepmother’s engagement. Their relationship has been strained for quite some time. In one of her FB posts, Alana revealed that she and Jennifer don’t talk frequently. Regardless, Jennifer played a significant role in Alana’s adulthood and has shown support in many of her decisions in life. Alana is currently studying at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She’s currently pursuing a degree in nursing.

June Shannon recently took to social media to share a clip from the upcoming Season 7 premiere of Mama June: Family Crisis. The first episode will feature June fighting for the custody of her granddaughter, Kaitlyn. The season will also show June’s shocking confession about spending Alana’s $35,000 pay from Dancing With The Stars for her own personal interest. Regardless, June was trying her best to keep everyone on the same page and had a yacht trip with the family. The first episode of Season 7 will also feature Pumpkin’s divorce from Josh, making it a dramatic premiere.
