Mama June Shannon has a life update on her granddaughter, Kaitlyn Shannon. She fought for custody of Kaitlyn after Anna Cardwell passed. Now, June is sharing how the tween is doing after her mother’s death. Keep reading for further details.
Mama June Shares Granddaughter, Kaitlyn’s Life Update
When Anna Cardwell died in December 2023, a custody battle ensued for her oldest daughter, Kaitlyn. It was Anna’s mother, Mama June Shannon, versus Michael Cardwell. Anna had been married to Michael for a short time, and they shared one daughter, Kylee. He felt that the two girls should be together and stated that he had raised Kaitlyn, even paying for her school. June claimed that he was not a good guy, and Anna’s wish was for Kaitlyn to stay with her grandma. That has been questioned as Anna and June had been estranged for quite some time. In the end, June won the custody battle and is raising Kaitlyn along with her husband, Justin Stroud.
Now, June has moved out of the home where Anna passed away and is giving an update on Kaitlyn. More so, how is she faring a year and a half after her mother passed, and is she thriving? Fortunately, Kaitlyn seems to be doing very well in spite of her circumstances. June shared a video of Kaitlyn with Pumpkin in the background, and they had gathered for food. The twelve-year-old was smiling as she shared what was on her plate, and appeared very happy.

Mama June wanted Kaitlyn to try her hamburger as she used a new seasoning and was very excited to get a review on it. Kaitlyn had so much fun eating and sharing her thoughts, and then Pumpkin Efird popped up. She showed what was on her burger and shared that June asked what they wanted her to cook. It was a no-brainer when it came to having a burger with fries. Being surrounded by love and family was the best thing for Kaitlyn as she looked like a happy camper.
Fans Are In Shock
After seeing how grown-up Kaitlyn was, fans could not believe that it was her. Moreover, they were shocked at how much she favored Anna Cardwell. Mama June’s followers immediately headed to her comment section to share their thoughts on adult Kaitlyn:

In the upcoming season of Family Crisis, June will have to prove that she should get custody of Kaitlyn. Additionally, June’s husband, Justin Stroud, wants to be legally attached to Kaitlyn, as he has helped raise her. However, June is not so thrilled about that and claims she wants to keep her granddaughter safe.
