Blake Shelton gained even more fans and followers during his tenure as a coach on The Voice. As fans know, the show did a lot more than just boost his already popular profile among listeners. It was through being a coach on this show that he met Gwen Stefani, who eventually became his wife.
With Blake Shelton hanging it up as a coach on The Voice, despite many viewers wanting him to come back, fans are also curious about what else he has going on. He teams up with The Voice host and his good friend, Carson Daly, for Barmageddon, and now, he is working with one of the most in-demand creators in scripted television to bring forward an all-new singing competition show.
Shelton Teaming Up With Yellowstone Creator Taylor Sheridan For The Road
With so many reality singing competitions out there like The Voice and American Idol, it can be difficult to stand out in this space. However, one way that looks extremely promising is to put a veteran The Voice judge together with one of the most in-demand writers and show creators in all of scripted television and let them have at it.
This is exactly the scenario with this latest singing competition show, The Road. The Road does things a little differently when compared with other shows. For this particular show, Blake Shelton will hit the road with Keith Urban as they look for talented singers.
However, instead of singing in the studio, these singers on The Road will tag along as the opening act, playing live shows and really getting a feel for that live performance environment on a working tour. So, this is one spin that automatically makes this show different from the rest.

Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan recently spoke about The Road, saying: “No more shiny floors and studio audiences. This is where the rubber meets the road—literally. Get in the van, go to the next town and win the crowd. Do it enough, and you become the next leader. Simple as that.”

While no official premiere date for The Road has been set, it’s predicted that it will premiere this fall on CBS. So, this is definitely something to look out for.
